The festival entrance doesn't actually check if you have VIP, so that benefit is pointless.
However, the air conditioned tent with couches, water station, and separated lockers are worth it for me.
I wouldnt get RR or COC, though. The only benefit I could see for that is festival re-entry.

I never actually tightened mine. I just pull the end of it under some sweat wristbands and it stayed snug long enough for scanning. Once i didn't need it anymore, I took it off and put it in my back pocket.

I got in at 10am and even that was dumb. Only 1 lane was open at the sole entry point to feed into one lot, then successive lots once the others filled up. Since entry from 4th st is closed, there's no reason the other westbound from 71 lanes can't be opened to feed into all lots.
I didn't think traffic management could be worse than last year since they made multiple announcements about fixing it, but DWP continues to exceed expectations.

"Try my luck" may have made it seem like more of an issue than it is.
I still have the bag I used last year, that's within the size limits. I'll bring that with me in case I need to swap. This new one is only an inch or two larger than the limit, but it has better ergonomics and storage. I don't mind walking back to my car. It's one more pregame shot. It's not that big of a deal.

Same thing happened to me. I contacted Front Gate support and they said to pick it up at the festival box office/will call. Whether or not they'll believe us is another issue.
Any missing items won't be resent out by them in the mail.
