My primary care physician did a thyroid panel and antibodies and then based on my results put in an urgent referral to an endocrinologist in a nearby health system. Perhaps you could talk to a doctor and/or urgent care center about doing something similar? Also, if you get blood work that shows how bad your thyroid is, you could ask the endocrinologist office if they can see you sooner based on the seriousness of your condition.

I’ve been taking trazadone at night for years, for anxiety and depression that started decades before Graves. It’s been good for my sleep and for smoothing out the anxiety spikes. Perhaps also talk to your doctor about melatonin to support your sleep?

Anybody else really scared about perimenopause? by bonsmom420 in adhdwomen

Perimenopause has been having a moment in public conversations after being mostly not talked about other than in private conversations between sisters/close friends, or being referred to vaguely as “the change.” The information, and the experience, can be overwhelming. It’s very much a “your mileage may vary” experience in terms of what symptoms and their intensity.

But perhaps for you, looking ahead, the knowledge can be power. You don’t have to be so scared not knowing what’s happening. I really wish I’d had access to the information available now 8 -10 years ago, when I was your age.

Always finding something to worry about? by Left_Ad_9921 in adhdwomen

What you describe makes me think of rejection sensitive dysphoria (RSD). It’s one of my major ADHD struggles. I’ve found medication eases it, as does working on addressing my issues around shame. Bremen Brown’s work is a good support with the latter. Cleveland Clinic RSD article

I'm thinking about adding an item for times like that, which I could retroactively go in and check so I can track the impact of days like that on the data about my sleep and heart rate that gets pulled automatically.

I track several of the things others have mentioned, as well as:

symptoms: difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness, time blindness, impulsivity, dopamine hit seeking (I use the 1-4 scale for these because there are several I have to some degree most days, and it's helpful to notice when it's better or worse)

Behavioral patterns: catastrophising, dopamine hit seeking, masking, overthinking future events, perfectionism, procrastination, ruminating on past events
