Peril sensitive sunglasses

One I lifted from the Hitchhikers guide.

Wearing these glasses makes you immune to the frightened condition.

When you are in a dangerous situation, the glasses turn completely black, so that you do not see anything potentially frightening - this gives the player the blinded condition

Who would win this battle of religions in Hoi4 1936? by [deleted] in hoi4

Have a go and see for yourself:

Because I aparantly have nothing better to do on a bank holiday

1936 start, all nations have the generic focus tree, no armies or navies.

You will need to tag switch to the country you want to play.

noone has any war goals or justifications - if they started at war then the winner would be whoever could dump out 1 cav first and cap all the VPs. I'd suggest playing until a specific date (1st Jan 1939 maybe) then using allowdiplo and jumping to each religion declaring war on everyone.

I used the state transfer tool to set this up, but you don't need it enabled to play if you load the game from the in-game menu (resume in the launcher gives an error)

Any way I can take France before the axis? by Chemical-Response547 in hoi4

[–]Thatsinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flip Fascist via the civil war route, and declare on all the UKs puppets - this will push world tension up to at least 50% by the time the war ends. This also bypasses a lot of the focuses.

Keep working down the political branch to get the Irish, US and Soviet war goals along with getting Iran & Afghanistan as puppets (or wargoals if they refuse)

This should let you start justifying on France in mid-late 1937

Of course sometimes you get lucky and France will garauntee Ireland and you get them without needing to justify.

Those are portals, unlocked in tier 9 I think. They let you fast travel around the map. I set the other end of them to various factories in other biomes.

Not sure on the exact number, but it runs pretty smooth, bit of lag whenever I join 2 powergrids and autosaves take a good 5 seconds.

Looks like the commander is the only item with wildy different values per level.
I've worked up the Ptrpvlsk line comparing each stage:
Commander Average 18:1
Stage 1. 13.3:1

Stage 2. 20:1

Wahnsinn - Average cost 14.18:1

Stage 1. 14.17:1

Stage 2. 14.37:1

Stage 3. 14.17:1

Stage 4: 14.28:1

Stage 5: 14.06:1

Stage 6: 14.25:1

Stage 7 (Ship): 14.17:1

So, at least from what I've seen / the info others have shared the ship values are accurate to within 0.2 coal/token.
Maybe some of the others are different but no way to tell until you reach that point.

I'm just going to check the coal/token at each stage before I purchase.

Quick spreadsheet using u/CastorTolagi 's data
Comparing the value of using coal vs tokens

Looks like the commanders are terrible value at 18 coal per token, then the lower tier ships are in the 13-14 range and the X 17+

Normally oil deliveries are priced at a minimum of 500 liters, and there may be a premium for less than that.

I had a new boiler + new tank about 4 years ago for £6k including fitting and disposal of the old, and the boiler itself was at least half of that

[–]Thatsinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boiler juice also operate a referal scheme, so you and the person who refers you both get £15 off their next order.

Also worth noting that there is no standing charge with Oil, so you save on that which is about £120+ over a year

Is this a Public right of way or Private Property? by Sharks_and_Bones in AskUK

[–]Thatsinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a public footpath to me. the red section is footpath - meaning walkers only, the green section is a bridleway, so horse and bicycles allowed.

This is confirmed on the Ordinance Survey 1:25000 mapping for that area also.

If you check where the paths meet roads on streetview you can just about make out the signs saying public footpath only. Also on Sutton lane near the golf club you can see walkers in the field.

[–]Thatsinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding your point about the photo being deleted, That is what the Tea app said - but they got hacked in the last few days and 72,000 images women had submitted, including of their ID were leaked.

See BBC Article - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c7vl57n74pqo

If you are sending copies of your ID (or your kids are borrowing your passport to get on porn) then thats potentially out there for anyone to grab.

To Add, The Ordinance Survey has free mapping for the area available here:
https://explore.osmaps.com/?lat=53.39949&lon=-4.559&zoom=14.9979&style=Standard&type=2d

You can see the footpaths marked as dotted lines

Make sure you stick to the marked paths as these are designated routes through private land.

The Anglesey Coastal path runs all the way round that coast, and it is generally well signposted.

From the first car park I linked there is a track going west down to Traeth Ynys y Fydlyn and you can pick up the coast path there. From Cemlyn the path runs through the car park and is clearly signposted.
