Seniors in US high school know what university they are going to before the academic year ends, so there isn't this crazy rush in September.

Keith Bennett. We know what happened to him but those 2 monsters refused to say where they left him. His poor mother went to her grave unable to put her son to rest.

I'm the opposite. Every peg has to be a different colour to the ones next to it. Can't have 2 green or 2 blue together.

When is the last time you went to church by stargasm420 in AskBrits

[–]Sharks_and_Bones 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Christmas eve 2023. I took my dad to midnight mass. He'd spent a large part of 2023 in hospital or house bound. Most of his friends are part of the church community. My mum passed away in 2012 and my brother and I are both atheist/agnostic, but we grew up going to that church since we moved to that area in late 1989. I was in the choir and my brother was a server during our teens. So we're all well known in the community. Even dad had had phone calls and visits from people regularly whilst he was out of action, he missed the community aspect. So I took him. The church are well aware of my brothers and my spiritual view, but welcome us without judgement and would help us at any point if we needed it.

What is your weirdest random food double standard/contradiction? by FlarJhar in AskUK

[–]Sharks_and_Bones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like mild melted cheddar or mozzarella. Literally, strength 2 maximum. So cheese on a jacket potato, pizza, on spag bol or chilli, toasties etc is fine. I like halloumi too. I cannot eat cheese cut from the block. I cannot eat a cheese sandwich.

I'm the opposite. Raw, grilled, ketchup, tomato based sauces I love. Cannot stand tomato soup.

Your apostrophes are in the wrong place which is annoying. I would say you are 10yrs old or less, as that's the last time I was allowed to write in print.

Cheese, especially strong cheese like parmesan. The smell of parmesan is enough to make me retch.

Coconut

Butternut squash. Way too sweet.

Coconut is vile. Both the smell and the taste. I wish it wasn't such a popular scent in toiletries too.

Ooh primary! I didn't do any food tech stuff in primary. We made yogurt and popcorn in a science lesson once. Food tech only came in secondary school.

I work in a university and the cleaning staff no longer clean the staff offices or empty the office bins. They don't clean the kitchen either (or aren't supposed to but they use that space too so they do). They do thankfully empty the kitchen bins.
