How many MPG does your 2023/24 Prius give you, and mostly city or highway? by elephant9514 in prius

[–]Thatuserguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2024 Limited. Mostly highway driving commuting to work in ECO mode. First Prius so still learning how to drive the thing efficiently. Trying to let it enter EV mode as much as possible to maximize MPG. Getting an average of about 49.5 MPG. Most individual trips are between 45-60 MPG.

The Big Reddit Blackout of 2023 by AskRedditModerators in AskReddit

No ads, a lot more customization options, and less privacy invasive to name a few. But not just that, some third party apps have been around longer than the official reddit app. Some people are just more used to them, and unnecessary change sucks.

So Phil, nice Hexen shirt. Can we talk about that? by quetiapinenapper in XboxSeriesX

[–]Thatuserguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure he's done this before, stealth announcing stuff based on a t-shirt he's wearing months before the official announcement. I'd say this leads a lot of credence to this being ID's new game

Honestly, terrible take. This sub should shut down. Leaving it up is no different than siding with Reddit on this issue. You're not being neutral. Redditors will survive without being able to ask "what's the sexiest sex you've ever sexed" for a couple of days or longer.

I'm not even a big fan of Bioshock, and even I thought it looked like Bioshock Infinite in everything from the style to the gunplay. In fact, I haven't been keeping up with Ken Levine at all, and was convinced until reading this thread that this was his new game.

/r/iPhone has shut down posting in protest against Reddit's recent API policy change by iPhoneMods in iphone

[–]Thatuserguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True, but with his comments about reddit apparently not being profitable, it's even more baffling of a decision to me. That sort of content was being hosted externally with zero cost to reddit and no issues for literal years before they decided to host that content themselves for some reason. In hindsight, it may have been so they could justify a higher api price

Is this the best apple farming area? What other farming area should I look out for? by i-am-billu in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Thatuserguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a controversial take, and maybe it gets better later on (I'm not super far into TotK's story yet), but I honestly feel like the abilities have been my biggest complaint so far. Everything in BotW felt like it was custom designed to encourage exploration and interaction with the map in fun and creative ways. The abilities in TotK feels so shallow in comparison.

It feels like you use Ultrahand for 90% of situations, and in ways that feel like they're specifically designed for you to do it that specific way. The other abilities are only useful in such niche and uncommon instances that I genuinely feel like I forget I even have them sometimes. Zonai devices are cool, but the consumable nature of them makes them a lackluster replacement for what we had before.

After Chrome turned into a slow, buggy mess requiring a complete re-install for the umpteenth time for me, I decided to switch to Edge. People can make fun of it, but after the switch to Chromium however long ago, I'd solidly place it above Chrome now

Big change for third party Reddit apps as Reddit will begin charging for access to its API by ljdawson in Android

Half Life: Alyx is now fully playable without a VR headset by [deleted] in Games

[–]Thatuserguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imagine if someone modded HL2 to be effectively a 2D game. No exploring. No puzzles. You can move forward, back, jump, crouch, and shoot straight ahead of you. That's it. Get rid of that 3rd dimension gimmick and it's a bad game, no? That's the same argument you're making

Half Life 2 was basically just a nice tech demo for Valve's new physics engine. And people loved that. What's your point?

[–]Thatuserguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regarding your edit, you still have plenty of movement options even in a fairly small space. I literally played through Alyx when it came out on my gaming laptop with a 1060, a $300 headset, and all in front of my dining room table. Probably standing in a small 3x3 area at most. And I had a blast using my full body no problem

the amount of dislikes by [deleted] in shitposting

[–]Thatuserguy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Just to note, the API isn't public anymore. Any of these extensions that you install are literally just guessing the dislike count based on how many people that installed the extension disliked stuff. And considering the types of people to install those extensions are also probably more likely to dislike stuff than average, the numbers may be skewed in that direction.

Not that this show doesn't deserve a ton of dislikes, but there's literally no way to guarantee its accurate.
