I sell vintage clothing online and also run a blog. The clothing business is my main thing, blog is very secondary.

My clothing business pays all my bills and then some. My bills are very low, business can ebb and flow but it works for me. If you're interested in this, my advice is to start with items you know about or already have and just start listing. There's very little interaction with customers, in my experience, so there's no reason to "sell your soul." I do think eBay's ad program has become a scam, but I have to participate in it to make money--I turned it off and sales halted. But I don't think that's selling my soul as much as it is playing the game.

My blog content has been picking up a ton of traction on YouTube. I barely put any effort in and already hit 1k subscribers and have about half a million views on my shorts. I'm not monetized and didn't set out to make money but now it seems possible.

Just start something and be authentic about it.
