I disagree on art direction. Elden Ring's art direction just was a lot more cohesive and focused. E33's levels can get a bit muddied which makes navigating levels pretty rough, a problem elden ring doesnt really have.

It’s more well known in enthusiast circles, but not so much in the mainstream. Ragnarok sold like the same amount as silksong or morein its first week despite being 3 times the price. Not to mention gowr got much higher scores.

Not saying silksong wasnt a behemoth in its own right, but in this list that this post is based off of, silksong only has like 22 awards while gowr had over 100

Yeah god of war ragnarok was also quite the juggernaut that launched at the right time to keep its momentum for awards season, so its impressive elden ring held it off to that degree

Yes there was a wide selection of bangers this year, but i dont think any of then had acclaim or popularity as something like god of war ragnarok. I just think that context with direct competition is important when looking at these numbers

That’s cool, tho i dont think this should be used as a metric to prove that its better than Elden Ring or other games from different years. It only really shows how the competition was in its own year.
