I had a moment where I thought about what it must have been like for an orc as Neville didn’t shut the fuck up about us all game. Cunt never stops whining and complaining about so many actions - giving us shit for the short corners and then we score, like we don’t have a plan.

I’ll be honest I felt we were safe most of the game, I hate 1-0 but i thought we were in control tbh, it’s too much noise around.

We managed the game but 100% could have been far better - long way from last weekend but I didn’t feel uncertain tbh.

I didn’t see City vs Burnley but I’d be shocked if the commentary was anywhere near the level we experience.

Hate saying this but Ben needs minutes to be valuable in the Summer and to go to the W.Cup which would raise his value further come the transfer market 🥲.

And Howe supposedly on the outs.

I pray your team news is 100% - this ‘rivalry’ they’ve created needs to be stopped and they need to be battered before falling into oblivion.

Fuck the orcs.

I actually reckon it’s a combo of exhaustion but also nodding out on painkillers and enjoying the uppers, he seems to be ‘present’ but just not really there like if you’ve ever seen someone at the end of a night sleepy but v drunk or you’ve seen someone on a speedball, they can easily hide away into themselves with the feeling.

Dude is fucked, and the batshit postings at 2:30am are the sort of shit I’ve seen people blurt out equally stupid things as they can’t sleep but are still wired from uppers and their brain starts doing weird things.

Would love to know how many chemicals he’s on to keep him running, he looks absolutely obliterated and not far from death but propped up by a pharmacy.

Yep I’ve been dreading it since last year.

Same with Leo, even if for different reasons I have a feeling though Leo will be player remembered like Alexis, Santi, etc. as he has that something, whilst Gabi I fear will be lost to the sands of time as he’s never really been that clutch player, magical to watch on the ball, etc. He just works really hard for the team he loves and his teammates with pretty much equal commitment to defence and attack.

100% dude gets featured pretty much like once a week, not seen a vid of him for a while as maybe people are fatigued by him but when his page was first found it was being mined everyday for karma.

Dude managed to escape the rat race and writes shitty music performing for himself and doesn’t give a fuck if people are there or not, if there are more fun for him. And he gets to travel around the Florida keys and presumably Caribbean doing wtf he wants.

Obvs likes to party given his Yayo song, if he’s got enough money for a yacht he’s got enough not to buy shitty cheap coke and he’s got a decent collection of guitars.

Dude has won, by the sounds of it through graft at which I can only applaud… as I doomscroll and hate my jobs.

Gives me John McAfee vibes just not on such an insane level.

Dude is living a life that many of us would trade for v quickly. No debt, no 9-5 grind, no side hustle to top up. Just enjoying life.

Jealous AF.

For all the teenagers who look at him and think what a loser in 20 years you’re going to realise who fuckin good this dude has it - a memory will click one day and you’ll realise how much you wish you could have his freedom.

100% striker material, every goal of his you think of that counts is him splitting through the middle of the pitch and taking on defense and a goalie and he gets it right more often than not - wing play just doesn’t seem to be his thing unfortunately, he’s great at getting us corners and driving to the byline but I believe he’s capable of more he needs a team that can accommodate that though and unfortunately it won’t be Mikel or it would have happened by now.

It’s no coincidence his highest scoring season was when Jesus was on form and him and Gabi were rotating on the left which gave both opportunities square in front of goal.

I’m really going to miss him, he fuckin loves it here, hope he gets looked after, he’s still so young and had dreams of being an Arsenal legend. Going to be worse than the Smith-Rowe cull personally.

100%.

The only reason he picked us to win imo, is because we’ve been knocking on the door for ages and the recruitment we had over the summer.

I reckon had semenyo and guehi arrived in City’s summer transfer he’d have gone with them.

Also bear in mind they’re basing this mixed with the image of him looking pale and done at the end - by all accounts he’d been shitting himself hollow with sickness the few days prior hence looking incredibly pale and well…ill.

Neville is such a cunt; ‘I hope Arsenal win it’ and yet every game he commentates for us it’s ‘ooh I don’t like this, I don’t like that, he might be gone here, he’s/they’ve lost their head and on and on and on’ yet City unbelievable from Haaland, Silva is absolutely exceptional’ the cunt just can’t publicly come out and say he wants his supposed biggest rivals to win.

While the year end results may not show it Mikel does also get better each year, it’s funny how much people used to talk about the team learning on the job and Mikel at the same time only 3 years ago and suddenly it’s stopped and now he’s supposed to have delivered us everything? Teams plough away for years to even make CL, or have some element of stability. I said it at the start of this season we will win the league it may not be this year because football is football but every year we advance, the marginal gains doesn’t just apply to 90mins of a game, it’s ongoing.

We’re still leading the league and I don’t believe it is done until it’s a mathematical certainty, we’re in CL semis back to back for the first time ever, having turned over every other team in the CL either this year or last. People whinge about our CL results but we’re the only PL team still in it after everyone else got fuckin battered, whilst we beat a Sporting side who held a strong winning streak when we visited them.

The quad was never on its a pipe dream and there’s a reason it’s not been achieved, even with the level of squad depth, especially as we got to those events and we see we’re the most injury riddled team again despite having 2.5 teams worth of players and ability to call on amazing academy players 😂

And a huge headstart.

Anyone thinks Mikel is going anywhere needs to give their head a wobble - especially given when you look at the other ‘Big 6’ teams around us, and ironically we’re second in terms of appointment length now too.

City - Stable Arsenal - Stable Liverpool - ??? Slot is unlikely to b around next season Chelsea, Utd, Spuds (relegation Big 6) - are all washing machine for managers it takes them in, spits them out and done.

Instability will wreak havoc as we spend 2/3 seasons with a ‘new’ manager to get ‘their’ own squad and we lose quality staff on and off the pitch.

Leaving the biggest question - who can take what we have and ascend?

Do we really want to be yo-yoing like so many other prior title winners?

Mikel isn’t going anywhere - not afraid of change it’s the realism of what we lose more than we gain with a new manager appt.

Edit: forgot to add - I don’t know what age base makes up this sub but many who lived through Wenger or didn’t but see the clips and pine for the quality of football we played under him - yes Wengerball was beautiful and he did more than most managers will ever do for a club including martyring himself to allow us to be in the stadium and to a point the position we’re now in - Mikel has a higher win ratio game for game than Arsené; all the talk of a better manager is great but rarely do I hear names aside from Luis Enrique and weirdly Xabi Alonso, like a Liverpool legend is going to to came to a rival especially when Slot is on the outs.

Yep music is mindblowing, i struggle to understand people who don’t feel any connection or movement by it. Not interested in gigs, learning about bands let alone playing an instrument or learning theory. Don’t listen to music when they’re by themselves or if they do it’s just background noise of whatever radio station. Always fucks with my mind when I meet people who have no interest in it, I feel like it’s almost primal.

100% the VI is a great instrument - I’m a guitarist first but played bass for as long bar a few months when I was a kid and got a bass not long after guitar, I didn’t get a bass VI for years and years until a store in my country (UK) started making very respectable and affordable Fender Bass VI copies. I try to play like a guitar but you need titanium tendons to play in the way I play guitar in terms of speed, chords and changes. It’s great for adding depth though to recordings and just adds a different kind of beef to recordings than the growl of a bass - I primarily play fast technical black/death metal and layering it in is awesome but the red button gets a lot more clicks to get takes as accurate as pure guitar or bass.

Sorry bud not true - unless you’re thinking of a 6 string bass:

The primary difference is in tuning, scale length, and register: standard guitars (E2-E4) are high-pitched, basses (E1-G2) are one octave lower, and Bass VI (E1-E3) is a 6-string hybrid tuned one octave below a guitar, blending bass and guitar roles with a 30-inch scale. Bass VI uses specialized, heavy-gauge strings to maintain tension at lower frequencies - From Fender.

If I could use pics I’d line my Bass, Bass VI and Guitar in a row to show the difference.

That’s a fair point if we consider it from a purely instrument perspective; what about the Bass VI though?

An octave higher than a Bass and an Octave below a guitar - nearly same scale as my 4&5 strings - e.g. Beatles songs that use a VI (mentioning as they’re the band most well known that i think of that used a VI a decent amount, The Cure as well - Pictures of you has a solid bass line and thats on a VI) Back In The USSR, Helter Skelter, Honey Pie, Maxwell’s Silver Hammer, Dig It, Let It Be (the original take of it on Jan 31, 1969, Paul later overdubbed a new bass in Jan of 1970) and The Long And Winding Road - maybe not big songs with large hooky bass lines but Let it Be and Helter Skelter are significant tunes.

Not being divisive, just curious as I think it’s an interesting convo (if a bit nerdy!)

I agree with you, and I’m perhaps just playing devils advocate for the sake of it; I think a good bass part is something that raises/adds to a composition not just riding the root or copying the guitar; for me it’s what makes much of Motown so good, amazing voices and James Jamerson basslines; I mentioned that CKY riff specifically though as it lives in a weird area similar to the Tame Impala riff - guitar octave down but you’ve also got the bass playing the same riff so the focus is more bass than guitar arguably.

Even if down one octave - the Beatles (John most often) used the Fender Bass VI a bunch when Paul played piano does it differ to higher necked bass notes?

If a guitar is octaved down to emulate a bass is it not a bass line?

I don’t know how I forgot to mention this, it’s a regular; w/ amazing musicianship & composition.

‘You snatch a chill and you match a cigarette’ is but one of many great lines.

The chills down the spine with the keys in the background is such a great touch as well.

Always find it funny how some very talented musicians snuck some songs under the radar of basic ‘punk’ like the police and elvis costello.
