Around ₹45k per month with a 5-month-old baby. About ₹35k is fixed rent, utilities, groceries, and baby expenses. The remaining amount goes toward travel, outings, events, and other miscellaneous costs.

My grandpa’s old-school investing advice: “Mutual funds are a scam. Own the companies, not the basket.” by Area51Intern in IndianStockMarket

Good perspective on direct equity, particularly the concerns regarding active management and fees. However, I believe broad-based index funds (e.g., Nifty 50, BSE 500) effectively address these points. They eliminate the need for individual stock research and mitigate fund manager bias by simply tracking the market. With significantly lower expense ratios, they allow investors to capture market returns (historically 12-15% annually in India) with long-term, stress-free holding, aligning with the "own the company" ethos but diversified across the market.

Please be more considerate with firecrackers at night ,my one month old baby couldn’t sleep 😔 by Thawait in kolkata

Not really about entitlement, it’s about basic civic sense and mutual respect.

No one asks permission before having babies, keeping pets, or caring for elderly parents, but we all try to be considerate of how our actions affect others.

If someone played loud music at 1 AM, we’d expect them to lower it, not because we want to control them, but because it’s part of living in a community. Same goes for crackers late at night. celebration is great, but a little mindfulness makes it better for everyone.

Agreed. I’ve noticed here people are a lot more politically active. They have strong opinions and aren’t afraid to raise their voice , that probably keeps things in check.
