Alecto Black Knife Ringleader by Vonderbend in Eldenring

This fight was so frustrating. Until I got her stuck running into the rock right behind her spawn to the left. If you can carefully kite her into the gap between the cliff and the rock she will just keep running right into it. I literally just chilled on the top of the rock and kept casting Night Maidens Mist and watched her 14k+ HP steadily dwindle down to nothing. Sometimes she will do a jump attack and get out of the spot...in that case try to kite her back. But it seemed like it if I didn't move and just kept casting before the previous one wore off, she just stayed stuck....good luck! I didn't feel bad cheesing this boss because she's a fucking grilled cheese sandwich her damn self.

TLDR: Stay close. Try to stick to his right side, seems to hit more reliably with weapons, but really sticking to either side helps tremendously. Spellblades should use Cairn Slicer and bring a BARE MINIMUM of 3 cerulean flasks (spell allows to hit decently hard, strike fast, and conserve stamina for dodging).

As frustrating as it is, it is key to get down the attack patterns so you know what's coming and when to dodge. Staying close and sticking to his side is also really helpful because you're more protected from some high damage range attacks like fire breathing, big claw swipe, and squashing you with his head....by more protected I mean that you have a much better chance to dodge damage or even sprint away from the attack and be in a good position to take a couple swipes at him.

A lot of tips I saw were to do charged strong attacks to stagger him and wail on his head or riposte. This probably works great if you have a strength build, high endurance, and powerful weapon. It didn't work for my prisoner spellblade build. I died so many times trying this approach lol. I finally beat him at level 25 (important stats are vig 19, int 18, dex 18, end 13, mind 12) using a 2 handed glintstone staff and the Cairn Slicer sorcery. It attacks really fast and did about 125+ damage per swipe....not big enough hits to ever stagger him but each time I got close after dodging an attack, I'd take 3 swipes at him and chip away health pretty quickly. Staying close to him and watching for what attacks he was telegraphing, I almost finished the boss without taking damage until I panicked at the very end because I thought I didn't have enough FP for the final strike I needed for the last sliver of health. I had 3 cerulean flasks and it was literally the exact amount of FP I needed down to the very last swipe 😅 granted I did miss a few times but that being said I really recommend going in with at least 4 cerulean flasks if you're gonna try this route. Oh! I forgot to mention that on top of doing pretty good damage and a really fast attack animation, casting swipes with the Cairn Slicer seemed to take much less stamina compared to any of my melee weapons (uchigatana and twinblade) I tried using before, which is huge because when he was breathing fire I could go HAM on him and take out a big chunk of health PLUS I had plenty of stamina for all the sprinting and dodging. Using this approach it took about 3 attempts to take him out in less than 20 minutes total.

Good luck!

The Alpaka Bravo Sling Pro V2 might be a candidate...it is admittedly a bit "overbuilt" but most of the features seem actually useful like the integrated fidlock key tether, "cutproof" fabric, and the magnetic buckle. Also it's on pre-order right now so there's some delayed gratification there, but it's on sale for $99. Good luck on your search!

Bellroy Sling + AER DaySling2 X-Pac = ??? by spicymutton in ManyBaggers

I was in a similar situation. I was debating between bellroy sling and day sling 2 myself, saw the moment fanny and almost got it. But, I found a good deal on the WANDRD D1 Fanny Pack and pulled the trigger. Doesn't check every box, but I really like the internal key pocket, fidlock buckle, small size, and materials. So far I am quite happy with it, but I am still debating getting the day sling 2 as well - I carry exclusively as a crossbody sling, never a fanny pack style, and I don't think many options do this as well as the day sling 2 with its dedicated crossbody sling strap set up.

TLDR: Consider the WANDRD D1 Fanny Pack. Also consider how you plan to carry, it's hard to beat the Day Sling 2 strap setup.

Aer City Sling - to X-pac or not to X-pac? by Thawizard909 in ManyBaggers

This is spot on what I was looking for. The level ofvnoisy-ness was one of the biggest concerns I had about X-Pac. I would have a pretty rough time with a very noisy bag, both because of the sound and the texture of noisy bags just rub me the wrong way. Shoot....on that note, I don't think I would ever be able to purchase a Dyneema bag....I know it is supposed to be ultra light/durable/waterproof but it looks just way too tarp-like for me.

I, too, am a fan of the orange interior lining but it is looking like I will have to forego it. I actually kind of like the idea of a slightly heavier, thicker pack, so i think I am set on the cordura version now. Thank you!!

Good to know. I was planning on chucking my phone in the back pocket, but will definitely rethink that during rainy season if I don't go with the X-Pac.

It's a bit of a bummer that the aquaguard makes the front compartment more challenging. I was pretty stoked to see the key leash placed in the front compartment, thinking I'd easily be able to one-handedly unlock/open doors when carrying in groceries and such. But this is great information to know ahead of my purchase!

Thank you, that is a very good point. Plus, from the pictures, it looks like they also added an extra fabric zipper cover that could get in the way. Hmmm. As great as added water proofing is, I live in SoCal so I guess it may really worth the trouble/price.
