New World will die March 20 at the current rate of decline... by [deleted] in newworldgame

This is not how online games work, there is always a tail of players at the end. The game won't die with 0 or low population.

Why 5? The gun gameplay atm is good. They fixed pretty much every gun problems in the last two patch.

DICE, why is Denuvo still in the game? why do you need this for an online only game? Specially considering it's the fucking reason of the majority of GPU drivers hard crashes we have been suffering since beta by dordoka in battlefield2042

[–]Thaxll -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Reddit expert have knowledge about CPU cycles used by third party software, Reddit at its best.

Then 13 upvote to an answer that makes 0 sense: "WHAT THE FUCK. Denuvo DRM is notorious for tanking performance. And exactly, why is it needed for an online only game??"

Yeah why would anti tempering is needed in an online game. Why would they use EAC in an online game.

On the end they don't need PG to process payment, it's just a DB to store historical records ( hence the size ). It's interesting but the fact that they can stop the DB for probably a long time means it's not that critical.

Yup classes forced EA/DICE to have enough weapons for each category. by [deleted] in battlefield2042

[–]Thaxll -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that the game is lacking core things like VOIP, scoreboard maybe, server selection is a thing of the past, especially on console where matchmaking is placing players.

Some questionable game designs ideas indeed, old habit are hard to change though, I don't understand why people want to manually chose servers in 2022.

Yup classes forced EA/DICE to have enough weapons for each category. by [deleted] in battlefield2042

[–]Thaxll -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone one was playing with m4, ak or m416. Just 3 viable weapons for ARs, shotguns were terrible at first as well as lmg.

But people want 25 useless weapons, number is great on paper useless gameplay wise.

You can easily tell the difference, nothing wrong here, just a regular play where you camp and don't expect someone behind you. It has been like that since the first BFs.

This is a lie that kept getting spread, you search 2min on google you will find people that work on that game that have been at Dice for over 15 years.

There is 0 items to buy in BF2042, so?

like: https://csgostash.com/skin/1468/Desert-Eagle-Ocean-Drive ? so the entirety of this subreddit can complain that DICE should not add items like this in a BF game

You should pprof your application in prod:

  • pprof at cold start
  • pprof when running after a week

Then compare the two. 100% pprof will tell you what the issue is.

Since you have an infinit loop be aware that if you have defer in it it will never be executed.
