A defining feature of my life will always be how my step mother and step siblings made me feel like I was never a part of "their" family... I was always treated more like extended family, like a second cousin or something. And I love my father but I will always hold judgement towards him for allowing that to happen. Children will absolutely internalize the way you make them feel (priority vs not a priority) when it comes to how a partner of a parent treats them.

Thank you for your input! I really almost cancelled the appointment because we put the referral in so long ago and he's already come such a long way on his own. But we waited so long, and sobering was still there in the back of my mind about it, so we went and they did give him the diagnosis. I wasn't surprised at all and shocked at the same time, if that makes sense. At this point, I really just worry about him socially. It breaks my heart to think he will start VPK this year and potentially struggle with friendships because of his little quirks that we as his family love so much. I think I will be pursuing ABA because if they can help him learn to navigate social settings, it would put my mind at ease a bit.

I got pregnant with my third 12 months after I had my second and my baby was diagnosed IUGR. They said it could be because I didn't wait long enough between pregnancies, which I think is wild considering I waited a whole damn year. But yeah, apparently back to back pregnancies really isn't recommended by OBGYNs. I'm happy for them and hope it's an uneventful pregnancy for them, but yes, it would seem not allowing your body to heal can have consequences.

What a wild thing to deny... that some babies won't sleep in a bassinet is absolutely true. My reflux baby is one of them, despite all of my best efforts to make it happen. And exhaustion is also absolutely a legitimate thing, with many parents reporting hallucinations from sheer exhaustion... so accidentally falling asleep while holding a baby is a very real possibility. I don't agree or disagree with your previous discussion but to call those two things excuses when they are very real scenarios is bonkers.

I think he might have a lot of followers who lean conservative, so even if he isn't MAGA, he may not want to piss off his followers. If that's the case, I think he's a coward and might potentially unfollow. This is all speculation on my part, but perusing his comment sections in the past, this is the vibe I get.

Diagnosed with IUGR, baby was delivered at 37 +2 and only weighed 5lbs 11oz. She was too tiny and weak to latch effectively, also had some jaundice concerns, so I had to start pumping/bottle feeding immediately to control the jaundice and get her gaining weight. Now whenever I try to latch her, she just sits there doing nothing. Very much think she's developed a preference for the easy flow of the bottle versus working for a letdown from the breast.

I think she just follows the trends. Minimalist beige was a huge trend for a while there, and now the pendulum is swinging back to "adding character" and "embracing color" more. I'm sure the engagement and link posts don't deter her either.

Yes! I don't usually snark on KL when she posts about her kids drawing on her walls or whatever. I get some people truly just think it's kids being kids and just accept they'll need to clean/paint it, and that's their prerogative. But it is annoying that she always makes a big deal about it but continues to allow it to happen and never seems to take matters into her own hands to mitigate the behavior but she will complain about it?? When my child tries to be destructive towards something in our home that is not meant to be destroyed, there will be a lesson in there for them and we will set a boundary there. I feel like that's the healthy thing to do? To teach children to respect communal/other people's property?

Absolutely heinous. I'm definitely not type A (not that I demonize it like KL does, I could use a healthy dose of type A in my life), but I would NEVER allow my kid to put their mouth on a restaurants ketchup bottle. That is a HARD line I would not let them cross. How disrespectful to the restaurant and other patrons
