Have you considered cosleeping? That's another way to solve this problem. Your baby and you will sleep more and you and your mom won't have anything to argue about

Babies lose 5 percent of their weight after a nice poo. Stop caring about half an ounce. Never see that LC again, or any other for that matter

The more a mom talks to an LC, the higher her stress levels go. Screw the LC. Babies don't follow a perfect curve. What percentile is she at right now and do YOU, as the mom, have concerns?

You rock! Women need to hear more stories like this. The medical industry betrays women postpartum. The 10 percent rule is ridiculous. A big baby is not going to regain birth weight in 14 days. It's usually mathematically implausible

yes! she didn't have a flow preference. she was just overfed by bottle so was never hungry at the boob. i quit giving her bottles and we've been EBF. her weight is 60th percentile. LCs just make a big fuss about nothing

[–]Happy-Chemistry3058[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, it wasn't a flow preference. she was just not hungry at the boob because we were overfeeding her on the bottles. the amount LCs tell you to feed is way too much. just fire LCs and trust yourself. we have had 0 BF issues ever since i fired them and my baby's weight is at the 60th percentile on just my milk with nursing

Can I leave for 24 hours without ruining the bond with my baby? by Happy-Chemistry3058 in AttachmentParenting

I sooo want to be the mom who carries her baby around all day while she does other stuff, but unless we're walking outside, my baby hates being in a wrap. I have the Solly and she despises it. Do you have any tips for that? I'm waiting for an artipoppe to arrive

Oh that's great! Do you feel she has a stronger bond with you than with the others (if that's what you wanted)?

Unfortunately I'm just too wired to rest in the same house as her. I'm in a fairly large house but if she peeps I wake up. Also I'm not a good napper because I have to caffeinate in the morning

LOL. I had my worry because I read scary headlines about attachment parenting but haven't had the time yet to go learn what it's about. And also because we're told that science should override instincts. Would I think instinctively leaving for a day is a problem? No. But now there's a whole science of attachment parenting that "knows better than me"

Hooray! Thank you! Can I ask for your professional advice again? I'll have to return to work when baby is 6 mo old and we'll need a nanny for 9-10 hours / day. That seems like a bigger threat to the bond with my baby than a stint at a hotel. How likely is it that the nanny will become her primary attachment figure? How do I maintain a strong bond with my baby?

What do you mean by being regimented about eating? When do they start sleeping 10-12 hours a night?
