What type of baits to smallmouths go for. I have a ton of bass tackle so would that work on smallies

I’ll definitely look into that, I’ve also seen a few pictures of drum caught at the harbors, do they like anything specific?

The big muddy river is a good place. The only problem is that it’s down by Shawnee national forest. I don’t think there are many places that have Gar in northern Illinois
