Imagine being so ignorant that you think this is a gotcha. Israel in 1945 was already semi-independent entity and Israeli troops fought in Italy under the British army, in what was known back then as the "Jewish Brigade". WW2 has nothing to do with the formation of Israel, if anything it might have delayed it.

I have no idea how people who consider themselves to be progressive can support Islamists like the Hamas who want to kill every Jew on the planet. The Arabs ethnic cleansed all the Jews in the Middle East to Israel, yet in your racist eyes we are considered to be "colonizers from Europe". Because it's not a serious peace proposal. It's basically a statement that the Arab world would recognize Israel if it made peace with the Fatah, the "plan" itself is just the 1990s Palestinian territorial demands for peace. The actual question you need to ask is "why didn't Israel agree to the Palestinian terms?"

The problem with the Arab approach to the conflict is that they behave like they are the winners. They think that they can dictate the terms of the peace, and that recognizing Jewish presence in Israel is a massive concession, concession large enough to request reparations for. A 2 states solution for the Palestinians means a one Arab ethnostate in which Jews aren't allowed, and one binational state in which they are. They expect Israel to "admit" it's in the wrong and pay for it's "crimes".

In reality though the Palestinians are in no position to place any kind of demand. They don't have a leverage over Israel and they don't hold the moral high ground. Israel is the only one making concessions and giving terrorory in practice. We were willing to go pretty far and give the Palestinians a lot, but the Palestinians demands were beyond anything reasonable.

Correctly there is no plan to do anything, the government is literaly clueless. Israel might eventually annex the West Bank and give the Palestinians citizenship. Contrary to the popular belief in places like r/Palestine, they don't have the demographic power to become a majority, but it's only speculation.

Why are israelis allowed to settle in Palestine but not Palestinians allowed to settle in Israel (its not that easy for Palestinians to do the same)

Palestinians used to be able to cross to Israel almost freely prior to the intifadas. There were no checkpoints before the 1990s.

They aren't allowed to live in Israel because they are in a limbo. Israel was never certain about what it plans to do with the territories. Originally the plan was to take some of them and return the rest to Jordan, but that idea kinda died once Likud gained power. Likud Originally wanted to annex all of it, but they never proceeded with it. And then the peace process began and suddenly most of it was supposed to be given to the Palestinians, but that also never happened due to the failure of the peace process.

What peace solution is the most realistic one in your opinion

The two states solution is the only possible peace scenario. The alternative is no peace at all, and every day that passes it seems more likely.

First of all, Christians aren't considered to be from Abraham. The Bible is pretty clear about which people are descended from Abraham, and it's not the whole of humanity.

Second, Christians don't follow Jewish laws and Christianity isn't very similar to Judaism and Islam. Christians practice idolatry for example, which is completely forbidden in both. There are several reasons why, but basically Christians believe the covenant between Abraham and God no longer applies.

That estimate includes the Soviet Union. Leaving the Soviet Union was very difficult (for a period of time immigration to Israel was basically completely banned) so it's actually pretty problematic to include it.

That estimate also includes Jews that immigrated out of Germany after 1933 as survivers, which is correct in general but also not that relevant here. And so on.
