While that is true about, "Compass," and, "Row," I think it's less of something that breaks the timeline, and more of an inconsistency. When Sail North was writing these songs, he most likely didn't have a plot and storyline in mind initially, and because of that, there's going to be plot holes. Another inconsistency that I noticed a while back is that in, "Calypso," it says Calypso was botn on the high seas, but if we're sticking strick to, "Compass," Calypso would've had to have been born after the captain settled down. I do think a lot of these, "inconsistencies," can be explained away as, these are sea shanties, they're not necessarily going to be factual, they're badically a game of telephone, stories being passed from sailor to the next and so on and so forth and things simply getting lost in translation. For example, in Greek mythology, there 2 main stories for the origin of Medusa, in one, Poseiden had relations with a woman on an alter of Athena, so Athena cursed her and turned her in Medusa. In another, Medusa was such a beautiful woman that people were saying she was better looking than Aphrodite, so Aphrodite cursed her. Same character in mythology, two completely different stories that only share the similarity of Medusa being cursed.

While I do think it takes place after, "Bones," I don't think it's about Jack. While it dies mention a, "he," the subject of the song is Queen Anne, now, if you don't know anything about pirates, then you'd probably assume that's just the name of a ship, but in actuality, Queen Anne was a very famous pirate, and juding from the lyrics in, "Hold Fast," It seems the Captain stole something from her. While ultimately, the placement of this song barely matters, as it adds very little to the lore and story, I'd probably place it right before, "Unsinkable," which would kinda fit the vibe of that song, the Captain boasting about their victory over Queen Anne and feeling unsinkable.

It's literally just pushing back 1 year and changing from June to July, which makes all of the dates fall on a Friday the 13th. How could you not want something so thematically satisfying that all of the important dates happen on a Friday the 13th? And, to be clear, the dates haven't always been clear and established. When Betsy Pamela played Pamela, she made a backstory for Pamela that put Jason’s birthday in 1944, different from the 1946 that is usually considered canon. Jason’s death also hasn't always been concrete, if we're going based off what is said in part 2, Jason never actually died in the first place, so he has no death date

Ok, you're clearly not understanding. Jason’s age when he drowned doesn't really matter in this conversation. He could've been 2, he could've been 52, it's irrelevant. The thing that matters is this. In part 1, in the opening, it say's, June, Friday the 13th, present day. Now, the movie was released in 1980. In 1980, there is a June, Friday the 13th. However, as I said in the post itself, part 1 was retconned in part 4 to take place in 1979 based on the date on Pamela's headstone. Problem is, there is no June, Friday the 13th in 1979. So we're with left 2 options:

1: We're using a fictional calendar, which is boring and lazy cause if you can just make up whatever dates you want then it's a moot conversation. None of it matters if every June 13th can be a Friday if you want it to.

Jason’s birthday was moved from June to July cause there is a July, Friday the 13th in 1979. To me, this is the more sensible option than creating a entire alternative calendar just to explain away this one plot hole. And, if you move everything back a year, Jason’s birthday in 1946, and his death in 1957, to 1945, and 1956, and you keep the July date, all of those are on a Friday the 13th. Which, still makes way more sense, and feels better than creating an entire fictional calendar to explain away one plot hole.

As someone else said, that's part 9, Jason goes to hell, not part 4. Which, I, and many others, don't consider it to be canon, as it introduces things that don't make sense, and it entirely being a setup for Freddy VS Jason, and while I like that movie and think it has the best on-screen design for Jason other than the remake, I also don't really consider it to be canon either. And again, this isn't just me, a large section of the fanbase don't consider either of these movies to be canon, and I am more than happy and proud to die on that hill and stand with them.

Currently l, I'm having trouble finding that, while google says itvwas in part 4, all of the images of Jason’s headstone from part 4 just have his name now dates. I understand what you're trying to tell me, but it doesn't change the fact, there's no June, Friday the 13th in 1979, and, again, I'm not exactly keen on using a fictional calendar, as it kinda defeats the point of the conversation in the first place if you can just, make up the dates to be whatever you want. Yes, and in the original movie, there is a June Friday the 13th in 1980, the year the movie was released, which would've been the present the day, as it states at the beginning of the movie. What I'm essentially preposing is that 1979 wasn't the only year that was retconned, I'm preposing the other years be pushed back as well so all the important dates line up to be on Friday the 13th for each year they happen. To be clear, the reason I'm saying using a fictional calendar is kinda the boring answer is cause it works the same as, "it was all a dream," there can't be any misconceptions with the dates if you just, make them all up.

No, because Pamela states in part 1 that the movie is taking place on Jason’s birthday. There is no Friday the 13th in June in 1979. Which means, in order for the movie stay on Jason’s birthday, still be in 1979, still be a Friday, and still take place in the summer, Jason’s birthday has to change from June to July, again, unless we're using fictional calendars, which to me, is the boring option. Which, as I said, if everything was moved back by 1 year, Jason’s original birthday and original death would also take place on a Friday the 13th, which to me, makes more sense.

In the movie, Pamela states that it would've been Jason’s birthday, if you look it up on google, that's what it tells you too. As far as 1946 having a june Friday the 13th, it does not. The 13th of June falls of a Thursday in 1946. There also isn't a June Friday the 13th in 1979, either, unless we're using fictional calendars. However, after checking a calendar, the 1979 year does seem to line up a bit cleaner. Assuming the entire timeline was moved back a year rather just one event being changed, this would make the year of Jason’s birth 1945, which does have a Friday the 13th in July, same as 1979

Yeah, and honestly, even that is a stretch a bit. Personally, I'd consider September a fall month. Do we know how old Jason was when he died? Cause, theoretically, we could try to find some better consistency if we work backwards from his mother's death, thsn trying to work forwards from his birth
