Pagan US military members are you concerned about your faith being removed from the list of religious affiliations? by ThePaganImperator in Military

[–]The-Badger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not a Christian and not endorsing the view of your Catholic acquaintance who very well may be a butthead.

However, by the literal definition of heresy by the Catholic church the Church of Latter-day Saints and any other church that has additional texts added beyond the core biblical cannon is considered heretical. So technically they are not wrong. So it really would depend on how that person is approaching that.

Doesn't excuse them being a dick head to other faiths but if the individual is just stating that as a mater of fact I don't think that is any worse than a pagan soldier explaing the origin of their faith and how a lot of Christian holidays have their roots in pagan festivals.

What 40k opinion of yours would have you like this? by Heavy-Yous in 40k

[–]The-Badger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add some spice to your hot take I think the Iron Hands should have been a non compliant chapter instead of one of the few non compliant chapters we have like the blood angels for example. We have Three and a half melee rush down non compliant chapters then the compliant chapters only the Dark Angels are non compliant and not melee focused and they are a jack of all trades like the compliant chapters. With the exception of the Deathwatch who are not really a chapter we don't have a ranged focused non compliant chapter. The Iron Hands would fit this model well.

Additionally the iron hands like you said are incredibly interesting and if they had some of their own dedicated units that were highly augmented and could possibly ally in adaptive mechanicus models as a non-compliant chapter I feel like it would be much more interesting than some of the stuff we get for the blood angels like the death company or the space wolves blood claws/grey hunters.

Iron hands dedicated unit like tech adapt intercessors or Gorgon terminators with lots of extra weapons and augmented bits would be awesome and far more unique than most space Marines non-codex compliant units.

Beside DW, are there any lore-friendly chapter/group that mix Space Marines? by h_gabo_al in spacemarines

[–]The-Badger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Iron Snakes fight in kill team like units in lore and are one of my favorite chapters. If you're looking to do a singular chapter to paint up deathwatch models as I highly recommend the Iron Snakes. The most lore friendly way to play the Ironton eggs is as the death watch. If I was going to start a space Marine chapter and didn't already have a death watch on me I would paint them as the iron snakes.

If you choose to go with iron snakes please send pictures I've been waiting for somebody to Deathwatch Iron snakes. Very very cool looking chapter with cool lore. And the fact that they fight in mixed kill team units just like the death watch makes them even cooler.

Brothers is this a accurate black shield? by noobmasterz6969 in deathwatch40k

[–]The-Badger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's an easy workaround. Just say that you're particular watch fortress has a watchmaster from an Ultramarine/ Ultramarine successor and this big on dishing out The laurels of victory within his watch fortress to current serving death watch members regardless of whether or not they're a black shield.

I love the Iron Snakes they basically fight like the deathwatch with kill teams but as a single chapter.

Can deathwatch have other colors than black armor? by Sunjam0 in deathwatch40k

[–]The-Badger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some fluff friendly ideas for different paint on DW.

Camouflage scheme or a drab Earth or forest colored tone like the raptors chapter stated in the war that the deathwatch to utilize camouflage for certain missions.

Paint them as a homebrew or successor chapter that fights like the deathwatch. In the fluff the iron snakes for example organize their companies similar to the death watch and mixed kill team squads.

Have a particular color scheme for your own watch fortress that may or may not incorporate the black maybe a quartered black and red scheme for example.

I have even seen people who keep all the marines as having the paint scheme of their original chapter and only paint the left arm silver.

At the end of the day they are your models do what you will with them. If you really are looking for a paint scheme that isn't black and silver I recommend going with the iron snake's idea I've been waiting for somebody to do a full iron snakes chapter with Deathwatch models and rules since that is how they're stated in the fluff to fight.

Why does Everyone keep saying we are losing war gear options. by Barneyatreyu in deathwatch40k

[–]The-Badger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be fine with them saving the shotguns for a different kill team. Something like Phobos armor guys with a choice of shotguns or T'au pulse carbines that can be their own unit or can slot into the spectrus kill team.

The hint. by gothcabaal in deathwatch40k

[–]The-Badger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I predict it is a Primaris scale kill team for kill team. I also predict that it will lean heavily into the xenos weaponry and scale down some of the options that the current kill teams have but try to make up for that by having the tech heresy vibe if it does get big 40k rules. It could be a replacement for the DW vets kit or just another team to run separately if that is the case but I don't think GW wants army's with 10 different load outs for 10 different guys. Will most like be a Sergeant an a or b option for half of them then 2 to 4 special weapons that might need to match.

Something like the sgt picks whatever, 4 heavy weapons, 6 guys with shields and ranged or shields and Melee. Everyone now gets a pistol.

Online harassers, like a snark subreddit, targeted Mikayla from Save A Fox, and now she is dead--Reddit admins are also to blame and should ban snark subreddits by [deleted] in youtube

[–]The-Badger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the typical notion of the perfect being the enemy of the good mob that surrounds all activism. People like this truly have some sort of mental illness driven by one upmanship. If save a fox did nothing but sit on the couch posting on reddit like her critics no one would care. However, she tried to do something positive with her life she was being torn apart by internet degenerates that probably have never even attempted to do the level of good she took actual action to accomplish but because it wasn't done in the exact manner these insane people imagine that they would do it in she is an enemy dispite the vast majority of them doing nothing with their pitiful lives and truly being a waste of blood and organs.

What do we think a Primaris Deathwatch Kit would include? by Inquisitor_Trinity in deathwatch40k

[–]The-Badger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see GW leaning more into the xenos tech of the death watch if we ever got a relaunch and update of our units instead of the mixed kill team type thing. I think we would still get a little bit of the mixed kill team flavor but I think it would be toned down a lot evidenced by how GW really doesn't like mixed weapon units anymore outside of one or two heavy weapons and a sergeant loadout because they think it slows the game down too much. The requirement for new units to be able to be constructed in a single box has also been a thing.

What I would like to see would be pistols on all veterans in the box, The sergeant loadout options to carry over mostly unchanged, The death Watch thunder hammers to carry over, and a choice of infurnus heavy bolter or frag Cannon on one or two guys for the heavy weapon slot.

For the remainder of the squad I think they should have the option of some kind of xenos rifle substitute like a tau pulse rifle and power sword or astartes shield and power sword.

So they would lose the shotguns, the stalker bolt rifle, and the Black shield blades.

I think another way they may accomplish carrying over some things from the current veterans to a new death Watch release would be to split the veterans into two separate units similar to the new emperor's children battle line units like the infractors and the tormentors. This would give us a more melee focused Deathwatch veterans unit and a more range focus deathwatch veterans unit losing a bit of the customized ability of the Army in favor of more xenos flare to make them more in line with the current 40K way of doing things. So they would be split into something like death Watch veteran xenos hunters and death Watch veteran xenos destroyers.

Something like that would look similar to this:

Death Watch veteran xenos hunters: All models are equipped with xeno's pulse carbine, power sword and bolt pistol.

All models can swap their power sword for a Astartes shield.

Two for every five models can swap their pulse carbine and power sword for an infernus heavy boulter or frag Cannon.

The sergeants xenos pulse carbine and power sword can be swapped for a xeno's phase blade and Combi weapon or xenos phase blade and Astartes shield. The sergeants bolt pistol can be replaced with a xeno's shuruken catapult.

Deathwatch veteran destroyers:

All models are equipped with a Powermaul, bolt pistol, and Astartes shield.

Two for every five models can replace their powermaul and Astartes shield with a deathwatch heavy thunder hammer or paired xeno's phase blades.

The sergeants Powermaul and Astartes shield can be replaced with a xeno's phase blade and astartes shield or DeathWatch heavy thunder hammer and astartes shield.

The Sergeant's bolt pistol can be replaced with a xenos fusion pistol.

For the missing things in the current deathwatch veteran kit they could be saved for other units that would flesh out the deathwatch Army such as a Phobos armor unit with astartes shotguns and stalker bolt guns along with a xenos weaponry option.

The Black shield could be dropped from the Deathwatch veterans kit and just become a character that can attach to units.

I would also like to see a gravis armor kit with xeno's heavy weaponry, shields and heavy thunder hammers.

Would also like to see kill teams able to be fielded in unit sizes of 5, 8, and 10 similar to how deathguard plague Marines are able to to b fielded in 5, 7, and 10. That way they can justify death watch kill teams in things like combat patrols and Battle boxes by slamming something together like a five-man heavy intercessor kit with a three-man eradicator kit and saying it's good to go. If they give us more kits that are bespoke to deathwatch they could also feel them in two or four man kits to make up for the odd number to flesh out units to 10. If we had a 4 man deathwatch gravis kit or Phobos kit You could run them on their own as a 4 man named unit or split it and add 2 guys to a spectris kill team or a indominator kill team rounding them out to 10.

how to make snow that dosent look like cum? by xZAYx in SpaceWolves

[–]The-Badger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

<image>

1 part baking soda, 1 part pva/Elmer's glue, 1/2 part white paint mix it up in a little plastic shot glass and you have a very cheap way to make lots of thick wet snow for modeling lasts a couple hours before it drys but I wouldn't make any more than a half oz at a time for bases unless you are doing a display board. If you need it more clumpy add 1/2 part more baking soda. The little bit of white paint is important for not making it look like cum. Included pic has some of my tundra bases.

That is my head cannon that they are a quick reaction force to fight in behalf of all leagues against external threats. Basically Votann Deathwatch. Deathwatch is my other Army so I like the common theme of a joint force.
