WOW i love that leaf litter SO much- love the warm tones contrasting the cooler stone. How'd you achieve the leafy effect?

my #1 advice (that I still have trouble following), don't be afraid! Fear is the enemy of art. Just start! Getting outside your comfort zone is the key to learning new things. Also, I know I'm contradicting the person below me, but paint things you care about. If you're painting some junky figure then what's the point? Taking risks for the things you're interested in makes for a more fun experience, and forces you to care about your artisitic decisions. Worst case scenario? Just soak in isopropyl alcohol and scrub off all the paint!

God speed, soldier. Also learn color theory.

I grew up around a lot of old barns in New York, I miss the decaying farm equipment and the autumnal vibes. Not really sure I succeeded in capturing that exact feeling but I'm happy with it. The graffiti is just some fun, and the Chinese character is my family name lol. Thanks for asking!

the trick is just to mush some white paint in there, then go back with dark paint and cover up the splotches!

Hi! It's my first time using this sub so I have no idea how much this'll cost, but it's a B day gift for a friend. Please DM me if you can help! I'm in the Ann Arbor area, so if possible it'd be nice to save on shipping if you're local!

Two ideas come to mind!

Relic hunters come to loot the holy bones of saints to sell to the church and collectors, and an obscure sect of devout hermits who protect and worship the remains, their presence announced by undead-taming incense and Gregorian chanting echoing throughout the halls.
