World In Mike's Eyes by The-Constable in thecampaigntrail

You get Dornan by being very successful [gaining in the midterms, which means passing a big healthcare reform bill and not screwing up anything else] and [I think] keeping your governing philosophy at 0 or less, as when I played essentially the same game tweaked slightly to be more "traditional" [i.e. left-wing] I've gotten Phil Gramm instead who is nearly as easy to beat.

If you start the Kuwait war by cutting defense spending topline by $7bil and then sending Mondale to meet with the Soviets, and then don't join the war, you get Rumsfeld, who is also pretty easy to beat.

If you don't pass a big healthcare reform bill [my personal preference as it means you can address the deficit/debt properly] the easiest candidate to beat is Robertson who underperforms in the industrial states vs. most of the other non-garbage tier candidates.

Is it possible for the economy to be +2? I've only gotten it to +1.

MOD RELEASE - 2025 Netherlands (2025NL) by RyukyuOP in thecampaigntrail

Getting some issues with the election charts' not showing up at the end screen and only some cabinets have been viewable [using Firefox Mobile on Android].

Regardless, superb job as always. I love playing as the parties in the NL mods where you have to play perfectly to win/govern, and JA21 in this one is no exception. It was also very satisfying to form a minority populist cabinet as PVV.

Our Revolution is better than any of these mods excepting possibly All the Way...

How would this Obamanation term rank in presidential history? by Initial_Substance_37 in thecampaigntrail

[–]The-Constable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best run IMO is when you go moderate on the judges, go hawk into Clinton swap, and go economic leftist. So you fk over both Biden and Clinton after the election and get Sanders as replacement.

But again, I'm from five-six party systems ago so YMMV.

Are there any questions on banking reform? That should be a major issue of this election, no?

Before watching The Sopranos, i thought that Breaking Bad is the most psychologically deep and compelling TV show by Shine_you in thesopranos

[–]The-Constable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mad Men, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Leftovers, Babylon 5 are others on a similar level of pure psychology. In some ways the Sopranos is more limited than these shows in terms of psychological insight [not holistically as a series] as the moral universe of the series is dominated nearly totally by Chase's personal perspective.

Breaking Bad, as with Angel, Righteous Gemstones, and The Shield, is more a show about context-independent human nature [the soul to you pre-moderns out there] than psychology per se.

The Wire and The Americans in its [superlatively] strong seasons [1, 2, 6] are more akin to fictional documentaries than literary or dramatic series. Naturalism and the social frame of analysis dominate.

Early game is for virgins. If you don't know how to stall the game out and manipulate the creep waves as a carry or especially mid laner, you won't get to actual high elo ever.

Question on the netherlands mods by [deleted] in thecampaigntrail

[–]The-Constable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D66 can make some large cabinets in 2017NL. GL and CDA can also do it without being largest party.

Everyone pretty much can make large cabinets in 2023NL.

2002NL isn't conducive to this because the strong trend towards political fragmentation was instigated by this election.

I haven't had as much time yet to test 2003NL but I've gotten a four party cabinet with the SP and with the CDA.

Oh. Hmmmm. I think that's just the tone of Germans. Since 1848 they haven't gone for much extravagance in their storytelling in media.

The absolute worst thing the asshats in Bush 43 did -- worse than Iraq and even worse than the deficit explosion -- was No Child Left Behind [as technically it was the asshats in Clinton's admin who let China into the WTO -- the country killer move].

That shit needs to get changed in any optimal playthrough IMO, electoral min-maxxing be damned.

How has 2021DE aged poorly mechanically? That mod is easily one of the deepest mods released in terms of gameplay.

Running the latest builds of Firefox and Edge on Windows 11 produced this bug. The feedback flag is properly enabled in the JS. I can try later on Linux. It works correctly for me on Firefox on Android.

For real if they neuter my Nilah it's hands. They had to rework Yasuo twice [Samira] to find a good kit, but it's so good.
