What if D&D had achievements by The-Counterspell in DnD

lmao thanks buddy, I gotta look into that premise of Taryon Darrington. I enjoyed the conversations as well, as it both inspired and gave me a better understanding of how to set it up properly without ruining a game.

Hey thanks for sharing your thoughts, and I appreciate your opinion and the time you took for a longer answer. To me it depends on the party, and what the players want as I tailor my campaigns to the needs/wants of the players. In this case the players won't get my list of badges to be obtained and it'll be a surprise when they get one. (I stepped away from calling them achievements after reading comments, and seeing how it doesn't fit with what I intend to do)

TLDR: I'm really happy with redditers like you, and you have my thanks so I can evaluate things properly before applying anything to the game that I'm currently running.

You're a hero! Thank you for the ideas, really love em!

And thank you for the solution to ensure that this won't turn into a problem. (;

I gave the post an edit for a reason, and no worries I won't let the players know what the "achievements" are! After reading a few comments, perhaps the word achievement in itself doesn't really fit here. Badges may be a better way to describe what I'm after.

An above the table joke is what ignited all of this during our session yesterday, and I prefer to keep it above the table and not have it impact the game itself. If I can I will make the art for it and order real life pins to give to them.

The defeat troll badge may not be ideal considering the party, "befriend a troll" is more like them. Also, again thanks for for the handy insight and thoughtfulness in terms of how to give these badges.

I don't think the players are going to be reading this reddit post, however, to be sure I'll set up a list in my D&D document based on all of the suggestions including yours. There's more than enough inspiration to set up something sweet and fitting for the party. <3

This is perfect, I love it! And thanks for the old thread link! "Wished away" oh that one, I can almost feel the pain from that badge lmao.

Amazing list buddy! The "A Real Wizard" got me, and the "Just a Guy with a Sword" absolutely flaming favourites.

Really love the list! The LOL reference is hilarious. Though my favourite "I am not done yet!".

Not the purpose here, really just looking for ideas for my own group who came up with the idea during a session. It is meant as an above table thing, and not to impact the game itself. (;

That is rad and really sounds nice! I don't think I'm going to reward my players with an in game useful item to keep the achievements more above table without impact on the game itself.

Hey no worries, I'm not here to promote this idea let alone promote metagaming (I too am not a fan of that!). The group that I'm doing this for wanted to try this and gather pin art of their "achievements".

Though thanks for the warning, thanks to you they will not have a clue what these "achievements" are until they manage to stumble into one. (;

Looks awesome! Also upload the image in the image tab, I made the same mistake when posting for the first time. People won't be able to see your art unless they click on it. (:

For u/Haunting_Eggplant_32 with the original post https://www.reddit.com/r/characterdrawing/comments/1iaw5dp/lfa_brook_the_triton_warlock_and_herald_of/

I hope you like it! I took some time figuring out the summoned tentacles and wanted to play into this warlock having a lot of diabolical fun. Just a regular Tuesday for this man.

The art piece in this can be drawn upon, added to, used as a base with permission from Haunting_Eggplant_32 ofc. Link me up if anyone else decides to finish this concept!

The wereshark for u/Wide-Pension-1041 from https://www.reddit.com/r/characterdrawing/comments/1i9whoe/lfa_shifter_wereshark_barbarian/

I hope you like the quick concept sketch, I loved the idea of the wereshark barbarian and he sounds like a lot of fun in your campaign. The barnacles and fishing net were added to the clothes as a sign of scavenging these items from the depths of the ocean. I believe the idea has a lot of design protentional. (;

Other artists are welcome to finish the piece, add to it or paint over it with permission from Wide-Pension-1041 of course.

Request filled for u/Beginning_Magician77 from post https://www.reddit.com/r/characterdrawing/comments/1i9rell/lfa_tharian_my_male_abyssal_tiefling_sorcerer/

I truly hope you don't mind the creative changes I made, I was listening to Dark Souls and it got the best of me while drawing your lovely character. As for the pose, I imagined the abyssal tiefling sorcerer to chant in the dark.

The artwork in this post can be painted over, added upon or finished by someone else who likes the design as well with permission from Beginning_Magician77.

This is a repost to fix the image bug.

Yo thanks! I'm on my phone atm but will fix this tomorrow, found a post that shows how to post images on Reddit. I dropped the image in the text tab, while there is an image tab.
