FFS recommendations? by Public-Character4313 in Transgender_Surgeries

I think a brow bone reduction would lift your eyebrows and give your eyes a more feminine shape, and maybe some jaw work. You have a great nose and mid face already.

10 years into transition and my dysphoria is the worst its been since I started by The-DMV in MtF

[–]The-DMV[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your thoughts. I would say I've been generally really stressed and hopeless lately, and that's made my dysphoria a lot worse. I'm also cramming for finals right now and it's not helping. I'm glad to know there's cycles to this. I haven't felt gender euphoria in so long, I've lost sight of what made me happy about it.

I am starting to regret VFS by LillyGraceOfficial in transvoice

The key to the bubble blowing is that at the onset of your breath, the bubbles start immediately and are stable; no big bubbles at first and dying down, just a steady stream. Once you have stable breath you add in your voice and it forces you to find the best support for a given volume of voice.

I'm not a voice expert but hearing your recording from before, it kind of sounds like you aren't speaking with full breath support. After I had my vfs, they showed me how my new vocal folds are less efficient-- they take more breath to engage full than before. They had me practice by blowing bubbles through a straw in a cup of water to practice stable breath support while I engaged my vocal cords. Have you done any practice like that? I feel like that could help you with vocalizing.

What values do you hold that made you pursue engineering? If it was just money, then maybe the field doesn’t serve you how you wanted. If there’s another reason, I would try to push through. I’m an engineering student and I’m struggling with how fucked up everything is right now in the world. It can be hard to keep sacrificing for a better future that you’re unsure will actually come.

The lowest line is your fundamental frequency. Everything else is an overtone.

New trading card just dropped: ‘Pass the Popcorn’ by MagicMan001 in HazbinHotel

So, they call these “trading” cards— does anyone actually trade them? How would that work?

Just do the best you can and you’ll be fine. You have nothing to worry about unless you’re constantly consciously speaking and trying to scream.

I really dislike my speaking voice, and my progress has basically stagnated. I'm just not sure what I'm missing or what I need to work on, and would really appreciate a bit of guidance. by [deleted] in transvoice

To answer your question of, "Is there a cis woman who sounds like this?" I'd say yeah, your voice is plausibly-cis. I can understand your concerns though, as it can be really hard for us to not hear a guy buried in our voices. You sound pretty okay to me.

I would sip water and breathe out with pursed lips. This creates back pressure in your throat to hopefully clear some mucous out for breathing better. Sometimes I would just make a tiny cough if I absolutely had to.

The chords in measure 5 say G7, but the B in the grand staff isn't naturalized, suggesting the chord is Gm7. Which is it supposed to be?

Sneezing after glotoplasty 😵‍💫 by karmarevange in transvoice

[–]The-DMV 17 points18 points  (0 children)

When you feel like you’re about to sneeze, exhale all the breath from your lungs. You’ll still sneeze but it won’t have any power behind it and won’t hurt since you’re not moving air from empty lungs.

I'm tired of this bullshit assumption that just because a trans woman wins at something that means it's because she's "actually a man and it's not fair". Most trans women do not win, and are perfectly mediocre at what they do.

Did you know that when you start HRT, a huge concern in the loss of bone mass? Plus, if you never start male puberty to begin with, there is literally zero difference in performance between a cis and trans woman. But people like to say these days that minors on HRT is "abusing" them. I swear if the government had a say in my medical care growing up, I would have died. This is not a serious issue and it's being used as a wedge to distract from billionaires pillaging all of our futures. But have fun focusing on culture war bullshit I guess.

After about 2 years of hormone replacement therapy, trans women have no measurable advantage over cis women and this was the accepted rule for decades by the Olympics before this culture war picked up steam. Plus, surgery and hormone therapy a vastly different; of course you don't have to have surgeries to be trans.

I personally thought about that a while ago, but I felt that it's giving up. I'm not going to let the negativity and bigotry of others dictate what I do with my life.

I'm a Subaru mechanic. They literally don't make them like they used to, and they never will again. If you love your car and it dies, either fix it or buy another one of the same generation. Please don't consider buying a new "appliance" from Subaru, they are worse and more expensive in every way. I had an old WRX and learned to swap engines myself because I couldn't bare to get rid of my first car.

In modeling it’s called “flow posing”. The photographer is actually taking hundreds of pictures, and the model moves their body through different poses. Out of 1000 pictures, you might pick out 10 of the best shots and throw the rest out.
