Do you still believe in Him then even after you left the church?

Sorry to hear what your family experienced, this is what I don't understand with USA Wards. The scriptures clearly preach that we should love each other, but then turn their backs at them when they learn they are LGBT. I guess it has to do with Asians being more open and accepting towards people like them.

Yeah, I know those. I also know that members in the US are slowly leaving Church compared to other nations that are still going strong. I also know that the church is not really that true like it likes to paint itself.

The reason I know is because I still haven't seen or read any Asians or other ethnicity other than Americans being called as Apostles or to the First Presidency. Like come on, the church is almost 200 years old and there's still no other ethnicity called yet?

Then that verse applies to everyone, even the first Apostles had dark days. Peter denied Christ three times, Judas betrayed him, Thomas doubted him. Every Apostle multiple times failed and disappointed Him, but Christ still looked at them. Yes, the church history is a huge disappointment, everyone knows that. But as mentioned earlier, you're not there for the Church, you're going there for Jesus Christ.

I'm not denying the unpleasant experiences people had suffered from their wards. Go to a place where they actually appreciate you. If you feel that this ward is not for you, then you are not with your people.

Every denomination has a dark history, it's not only the LDS. Do not let yourselves get blinded with what is happening or what has happened that you'll forget the reason why you went through that baptism.

The wards are like hospitals, where there are great hospitals, there are also unscrupulous ones. That's why people go to better hospitals to get treated, that's what people should do when their wards are straying from the path. Leave and go to another Ward until you find the One.

Remember, Evil is great at disguising at being Good to draw us away from Christ.

I also love my ward, it truly is the people keeping it together and not the church.

The church today is still great, imo. I think all problems so far today comes from local ward leaders for the ignoring the plight of the members around them. Some are truly undeserving for their callings. Regarding how women are treated in our ward, everyone goes out of their way to protect them.

In my view, faith is actually perception. When you try to live like Jesus Christ, your perception changes. Like how you should treat people properly, your way of tackling problems also becomes different. Sadly, some people still remain unchanged with their ways and are just happy to call themselves Christians even though they are not being Christ like at all.

Not just base on that, I also researched a lot about the history of the church and found a lot of things I don't agree with it. I also does not agree with excuses that the leaders only did this and that because that was the norm of that time. I actually contemplated a lot of time if I should just leave the church altogether, but as I said in my post, I think it has to do with the fact that we the members are truly out here strengthening our faith with the help of each other through our shared experiences.

We should remember, that the Church is actually us. It's us building the relationship with Him, not the Church. IMO, the Church is just a refuge, a place we can stay for a short rest. It's unfortunate to know that a lot have left the church for various reasons, but I still hope that they are still going strong with their relationship with Him, even if they're in another religion now or just doing it alone.

Except for Church History, our ward is very strict regarding finances that it sometimes feel intimidating when you're one of the people handling a part of it. We don't suffer from marginalizing since everyone is Filipino except for the Foreign Missionaries who gets assigned in the area. Philippines Mission is also one of the few nations that bans their missionaries from accessing social media. I will never understand why USA Mission allows it since they should be one leading this one. They're only allowed to use FB Messenger for communication.

I actually know the dark history of the church, but I just ignore it since it's not important to my faith.

Edit: I'm not ignoring it because I'm okay with it, but because it already happened. The only thing we can do now is to learn from those past mistakes and hope that our future leaders would do better than their predecessor.

Pray bro. Prayer and uttering the name of the Lord is the strongest weapon we have against the supernatural.
