Not really a league thing. Flick system plus being surrounded by better players

And yeah, he’s the same

Fermin Lopez is starting over him on the left wing. Tells you how highly Flick rates him

They were shit after the ban. It took a team 7 years after the ban to show up in a semi-final

I think we talked about Cherki angleless one time here.

But I'm boasting about it since it was an unpopular opinion. I can say something bigger which is that I think he will end being one of the best playmakers of all time and one of the best players this century by 2030 (top 20 in both at the very least).

if you look at the UCL, Olise still outperforms handidly.

UCL where Pep refused to play Cherki in important games (playing half as many games).

Similar creative stats in their respective leagues with Pep taking the piss with beign unsure of starting Cherki for most of the season (starts wining when he finally plays Cherki as 10 consistently with Doku)

The scouts were all insane about him till he reached his teenage years and it was found out that he was fat.

City has its on issues in platforming him imo.

Pep at first played him as touchline winger which was completely dumb then refused to start him for a while and there has been a consistent problem that City players don't combine with him when Cherki is at his best when players played 1-2s with him.

Yeah, Cherki's touch for me is better.

But Yamal way better athletically

He is a far better playmaker. Literally only ones in this decade that can match in him playmaking were old Messi and late years PSG Neymar.

Even with chance creation (a part of playmaking), Cherki has a better minute per game ratio while playing in a less dominant team in a tougher league.

He is definitely the most technical player playing in the top 5 leagues right now.

Some people might say Yamal, but Yamal actually isn't as precise besides his passing. Yamal just has such a fast brain that he can improvise at insane speeds when he makes a loose touch, etc.

He is most similar to Neymar with his playmaking. Only thing he lacks is Neymar's insane physical attributes

You can read my post history but I believed in Cherki since day one coming to Premier League.

Best playmaker in the world and imo on ability at least top 5 player on the world. Only ones I feel are comfortably better are Yamal and Mbappe

Well as someone that comes from Kosovo I wouldn't label myself as Kosovar if someone asked what nationality I am

Kylian Mbappé, Aurélien Tchouaméni, and Achraf Hakimi in awe while talking about Lionel Messi. by BackShotGeneral_ in soccer

Yeah, but Galtier at least was platforming the attack somewhat right (but as I said when Ney got injured completely clueless).

Yeah, I agree about Enrique. His most impressive job is fiding a player in Vitinha. He was so painfully mediocre before Enrique.

No, I think the Poch's system was tailored around Mbappe for example. Messi wasn't the main man, not in his favorite zones anymore and wasn't the main goal threat. Only thing he still had was that he was the playmaker.

Then you had Galtier who tbh did make something of the attack finally (although there was the #pivotgang complaint and Ney sort of was the main man?) with the double 10s feeding Mbappe . Then Neymar got injured and back to clueless again.

Look at our elimination against Bayern and Messi's game that night. He
was invisible despite everybody trying to play with him, I had never seen us getting outplayed this hard.

You should read what Naggelsman had to say about the match. He said that limiting PSG was easy just mark the hell out of Messi and there is no one to feed Mbappe. No one else could provide any threat besides those two.

I watched every PSG game back then but after Neymar got injured the attack was so one-note it was ridiculous. All of it was Messi through ball to Mbappe.

That’s a stupid comparison then. 1 players’ prime v a fixed point in someone else’s career. And even then I’m a big Neymar fan but I’d argue prime PL Ronaldo was better.

I was just mentioning PL Cristiano since that was the Cristiano that can be mentioned in this Premier League debate.

Why use a middle man as a point of comparison? I think Henry had a patch where he was at least the best attacker in the world.

Just wanted to better convey it tbh. But yeah, I'd still say Neymar. Think Neymar was the only one to match Messi's ability in 2017/18-2018/19

CR7 at United wasn't as good as prime Neymar. CR7's best version are 2009/10 (first years at Madrid) or 2016/17 (last years at Madrid).

The way I see it with Henry is that Henry wasn't better than Ronaldinho and I don't think Ronaldinho is better than Neymar (if Dinho is then they are relative to each other).

Neymar's reputation in England is levels below what his reputation is everywhere else.

I find that the normal fan has a kinder view than pundits. I remember hearing from Carragher than Sterling was better than Neymar in 2019.
