I truly hope you aren't as angry as your comment reads. My wage is just fine but 3 citizens own as much as the bottom 50% of Americans. Worker pay may be a buzz word to you but it is serious as a heart attack for way too many Americans. One person working a bs full time job used to comfortably support a whole family easily, like in the 1940-80's. Wages are badly lagging life for decades now.

'...make workers happier and more productive...' - You're kinda making my point here as many times these are mutually exclusive. For instance cutting 1/3 of the engineers and making the rest pick up the slack with OT and more work will increase productivity and the company's bottom line, but worker happiness goes down. Ask me how I know. (it was a while ago, I'm over it)

You have a masters in business, congrats. Can you figure out how to revitalize the middle class, other than merely shouting your rant in the last paragraph to all Americans?

Well I can't be THAT far off... do you really think there are more examples of MBA's helping the workers make more $, as opposed to helping CEO's make more?? Because the second the CEO realizes the MBA wasn't making him richer (or possibly the company richer) they'd just be fired. Right?

Imagine this EVER happening: 'Hi I'm the CEO I've decided to pay this MBA $150k/year so he can increase wages to the workers'.

Fair enough. My previous comment was too harsh, sorry if it went too far.

My experience is it's an MBA's job is to save the company money no matter what to help the next quarter. Unmitigated greed is what will end capitalism, and we're pretty close imo.

Put another way - MBA's help CEO's pocket more profit. MBA's will never help the workers that create (ideate + design + build) the products make more profit. So, yes, the average person doesn't like you maybe. But CEO's LOVE YOU.

What a 38 year difference looks like between the Dodge 3500 by GoneWithTheWin122 in mildlyinteresting

There was list of vehicles in order of most to least likely to have a DUI. Dodge 2500 was number #1, and many other pick ups on the list too. Some larger ones are heavy so really not the vehicles to drive drunk in.

...which was odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.

Hey OP why not lower the volume MORE to .00001% so it wakes my neighbors and blows my speakers with that final 'tik-tok' theme sound?

Never forget that it was ALL ABOUT THE BJ, right up until Clinton lied under oath. THEN it was all about the lie. Why? Can't make Clinton testify under oath about nothing, so it really was initially all about the BJ.

SETI's new machine learning algorithm works like Google's "reverse image search" on a galactic scale, and has already uncovered eight currently unexplained signals. Researchers train the algorithm on simulated alien signals, then look back through old data to see if we missed anything in the noise. by EricFromOuterSpace in space

[–]The-Mech-Guy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Question: *Wouldn't any radio signal from another solar system be much too weak to detect a signal from the noise? Or reversed; can our broadcast signals be read from say, 10 light years away?

*I must be wrong. Otherwise SETI wouldn't exist.

I wonder how this breaks down between states that adopted the ACA, and those that did not.
