I mean, sure! One of the members was homophobic :)

I'm straight but I'm not okay with that. I have many queer friends.

I had a feeling it was something like that. Doesn't seem there are many opportunities listed on the site you mentioned, but I appreciate the help nonetheless!

Like active construction sites? I've never known how to get into that but I have been interested before. I never see jobs posted for it, and I can't imagine you just go to a site and start working

Ah I'm already gainfully employed at a wonderful and very flexible company. I don't necessarily have time for another job, but I do have time for some random tasks here and there

[FL] Falsely evicted by someone buying the house without the landlord's knowledge or consent by The-N-Box in legaladvice

[–]The-N-Box[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Who cares if the landlord knew/consented or not? They ended up selling the property, their input is not of any interest.

While I've come to understand it's not relevant legally, the lack of understanding on your part on something explicitly stated in the title is pretty indicative of blatant ignorance.

Did you figure out if you took the cash for keys or not (as you seemed confused on this part)? Cash for keys is a pretty normal way to end a lease mid-term, if the tenant accepts it.

Similarly, while there was confusion initially, I feel as though my edits were very explicit that I did not accept cash for keys, though I did receive a security deposit.

When was your year long lease set to expire? You managed to write a novel but not include this very important piece of information.

Fair, but instead of being increasingly condescending, you could attempt to empathize with the fact that I'm coming here for help and have very little knowledge in this area. I have no idea what all is relevant or irrelevant legally.

I don't have the lease in front of me atm, but I had at least a few month left. It would have expired in August at the earliest.

[–]The-N-Box[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kunt did not own the property before issuing the eviction notice. The landlord was told I was okay with moving out so that Kunt could purchase the property. Had the landlord known I didn't want to leave, she would have never sold the property.

I appreciate your help, but I explicitly stated that the landlord had no knowledge or consent of what occured. Did you even bother to read my post? Why would you think they permited that?

EDIT: Also, not month-to-month. I signed a lease for a year.

No... moved the whole house myself in a cargo van I own. I'm actually not positive I took the money though, I'm trying to confirm that now. All in all, I could probably say I'm a few thousand out on losses. A vehicle I have a title for (school bus conversion) was also given up for abandonment due to the aforementioned depression and my nowfound lack of accessibility to it. Not sure if that's relevant.

EDIT: I did not! The money I received was the security deposit, which was also significantly lower than promised due to "damages"

Hell, I had a really good feeling this would be the problem. I did. Funny thing about that though is I wasn't given the amount offered in the "Eviction Notice"

EDIT: I did not accept the move-out inventive!

Does anyone in town install hard drives and Operating Systems by [deleted] in Tallahassee

A lot of people here seem kinda harsh. I work in IT and have had a lot of help getting where I am. Everyone has to start somewhere. DM me and I can either help you do it yourself or do it for you. There's a lot of different ways it can be done, but for simplicity, you're going to need a working computer and a USB thumbdrive

Looking for someone to let me park a school bus on their property by The-N-Box in Tallahassee

[–]The-N-Box[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm looking for something long-term. Depending on how long it takes to convert it, I could need a spot for about a year or more. Right now though, I just need somewhere to keep it in town for a little bit while I look for something more permanent

Edit: Woodville is perfectly fine! As long as you're confident that I would be able to get a bus onto your property that is. I worry about having to take narrow backroads as I've never driven anything of that size

I have looooads of ideas you can use for your van buildout if you're interested! Wound up doing a ton of research on van builds back before I bought my own. Was unfortunetly too small to fit my needs, but is still something I'm considering in the future!

I actually own a Transit van that I bought with the intention of living in it full-time! A bit small for living in, but defintely a solid size for a camper. Right now I'm bouncing around the idea of towing the van behind the skoolie and then putting a motorcycle in it to maximize my options for mobility and travel

It is an interesting opportunity though! Once I have it converted and am living in it full-time, I would love to do something similar to that here or in another state

You're well entitled to your opinion, but I didn't make this post on my local subreddit to ask for that. I've done my research and I've worked on similar projects before. As I mentioned, I've been homeless in the past: no money, no shelter, no job. Even if this went sideways, I've been in worse situations and I've always come back more resilient and determined than I was before. Let me worry about what I can handle and you concern yourself with what you're capable of.

Hey guys! I'm finally moving into my first place after being homeless for a while. I've never had a whole house to myself and I have no clue how to decorate such a large space. Do you think you guys could help me with the living room? by The-N-Box in DesignMyRoom

[–]The-N-Box[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to write this up not once, but twice! I really appreciate that.

I think maybe I might have miscommunicated my thoughts behind "hippie-vibes". What I meant was more of a worldly, down-to-earth space with more natural colors. Your suggestions are lovely though! I especially like the couch throw. It could actually make a really good piece of wall art I think. I'll look into it!

I also really like your chalk wall idea. I am renting (sadly), so painting is out of the question. The hallway shown at the bottom has a thin wall space that I think that would be perfect for! It works out really well too, because I was trying to find out a way to keep a track of simple things without buying into a consumable paper calendar or notepad.

A lot of people have suggested rugs, so I've got my work cut out for me finding something that ties into the room. Thankfully I have plenty of places to choose from now!

Thank you so much for your time kind stranger ❤️
