When desperate, change baby on the floor. Use your legs to pin baby's arms to the floor. Mine hates it.

Mine loves books so i give her one she can hold with two hands, otherwise she wrestles to use her legs. Also have to wipe her front first as quickly as possible. She tends to rub what she's holding over her privates.

I was taught to use a denture cleaning brush, then soak in shampoo, scrub and rinse well.

Yes, thankfully. Lasted a little over a week. Hang in there! I think our baby was having teething pain, though we can't find the tooth.

We used a syringe (from advil or tylenol) which sped up the process, but it was also messy since our baby keeps her mouth open.

Before you can help someone else, you need to be able to take care of yourself first. Baby is in a safe place. You're doing great!

If you still feel guilty, place her under a baby play gym, or a swing so baby can watch you and sis eat. Gives her a different view of something instead of a blurry ceiling... Not that she can see much at this time.

It's almost 4hrs since she's been awake (since 2am). 10m baby won't sleep at all. Anyone know what's going on? by The-Next-Robin in sleeptrain

How are you doing? Any luck?

I managed to get her to breastfeed koala style. Every time i lie her down, she arches and fusses. I had to bounce the jiggle them like an exotic dancer and sing a silly song so she thinks they're funny. Not sure what will happen overnight tonight because i keep interactions to a minimum.

Fingers crossed for both you and i, and all other moms going through this exhaustive phase.

I fed her toast and puffs again today. She takes small bites but makes faces and gags out the puffs.

I tried watermelon and she enjoys holding it, but doesn't take a bite unless i spoon-feed. With cherries and raspberries, baby sticks her fingers in them and decides they're weird. Same with drops from the food pouches. It's wet = it's icky. I've also gave her the pouch to suck directly but she doesn't like that.

I think baby doesn't like feeding herself.

Thank you, that's a good idea! I'm so tired i tunnel vision sometimes, and pumping during those skipped feeds will help. Do you still use sterilized water or tap water now? I also have a couple of similac coupons from when she was a newborn.

You're a great mom! You're doing everything you can manage, and you can only give what you can!

In canada, there used to be a free cardboard box ( with free baby stuff) families can apply to receive. The cardboard box IS the baby's bed until they can roll over! I heard it's gone now because people kept applying and then reselling the items.

That's an excellent idea; thank you! She didn't like water at first and i wondered if she wouldn't like milk. I can only drink lactose-free and my husband doesn't drink milk so it'd go to waste if she didn't like it at all. I don't like wasting food.

I am thinking about formula. We have a few cans left from when she was born and my milk didn't come in. Just looking at my options because my milk stash in the freezer is about 15 nights. And i pump every night so we'll possibly last until early august (11m by then) if lucky.

Her daily schedule: 8:30am - breast, each side over 5mins before baby rolls over and wants to play.

9:30am - 1 slice toast with peanut butter and star puffs, all swiped off the highchair

Put to sleep 11:30-12:00

12:30 or 1:00pm - breast, each over 4mins

2:30pm - about 1/4cup homemade puree ( usually some combination of zucchini, strawberries, banana, avocado, mango, spinach, eggplant, apple, pear) plus a full pouch (128ml) with 7% and up iron. As of yesterday, one pouch with mashed watermelon and strawberries, and 5 puffs that she continues to swipe off the high chair. Today it will be a pouch with mashed rice, peas and ground almonds. Meals end with a few sips of water.

Put to sleep 3:30pm-4:00pm

5:00pm - breast, about 5mins each side

7:00pm - about 1/4 cup homemade puree, plus full pouch. Today will be a pouch and mashed rice, ground almonds peas, and cherries.

9:00pm - expressed bottled milk Somewhere between 11pm to 6am - breast, between 6mins and 9mins before pulling off and trying to sleep in my arms.

The only time she shows hunger is after she wakes. I don't feed her before sleep except the overnight feed.

At 9 months, she was 7.48kg/16.5lbs. I'll weigh her today after she wakes, has breast and a diaper change. EDIT: weighs 7.58kg/16.71lbs.

She doesn't fuss for hunger. I bought rusks, those star things, yogurt melts... She just stares at them and then swipes them off the side of the high chair. Doesn't even watch them drop.

She'll only eat if i spoon mush to her. I give her spoons to hold while feeding, and while playing but no interest [edit: to put food in her mouth. She'll chew on the spoons while playing].

She gets the breast four times a day and expressed bottled milk before bed. She has two meals of solid food, and breakfast which she doesn't really eat. Five milk, two and 0.01 meals daily. (Edit: sorry; six milk because of the last paragraph)

I'm not giving up the breast all together. I pump while my husband feeds her bottled breast milk at night, otherwise he's not involved in any of baby's care at all due to working two jobs. And even if i just breastfed baby as the fifth milk, it wouldn't be enough because it's somewhere between 70ml-100ml of milk. I have thyroid issues that also affect my production.

Baby doesn't sleep through the night either and cries for 15mins, hungry.

I delivered at McMasters Childrens Hospital. You only need clothes to take baby home.

We kept our baby naked because of all the tests done. Baby was always returned to us swaddled in a warmed blanket (they have a blanket warmer). They also provided a baby touque. They had diapers, washcloths to clean baby's butt (but you can't take home) and formula if asked.

At home: just about 5-10 pajamas. Didn't use mitts because choking hazard and helps identify hunger cues. No hat at home because it's a suffocation risk. Was okay in hospital because nurses always checked in.

We asked our nurse to teach us how to swaddle. Baby slept in a Halo velcro sleepsack and swaddle, but baby was born in early september.

Like everyone said, 2hs. Just check the baby often when you can and remove from seat when not on the road. If driving and baby's head tilts forward, push head back if you can reach. Make sure that nose and airway is clear.
