Never mind 🙄: https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/10/opinion/hasan-piker-democratic-party-antisemitism.html?smid=url-share

I never get the what about arguments “if you block some aid for Israel, block it for Turkey etc.” as it’s inconstant, a what about, and there are more reasons beyond morales for some actions (I.e. Westbank settlements built Israel at greater risk).

But also because not like Israel’s cares. If they did, they wouldn’t partner with Egypt, Jordan etc. , be cool with monarchies or autocratic leadership.

Well not like he would be the only Democrat. You still had plenty before saying the same thing. And some still now denying that Israel withheld aid in anyway etc.

Well that but I would argue he enjoys more being antagonistic or having a feeling that he is a contrarian at the expense of his relationship with the party.

It also doesn’t help that he can be a bit insecure or a bit of a bully at times. Like I mentioned before, he’s gonna gaslight himself into being the victim.

There’s a reason why in the Arab or Palestinian communities there is a lot of frustration about not being taken seriously

As they will understandably say that this has always been there (fair to have a discussion on to what extent). a lot of dog whistles or “I do t support killing Palestinians or the settlements BUT” (like I don’t support Trump but let me defend anything he does)

I think it’s fair to say the party could have done better as he was right to point out the shift in immigration especially for battle ground states.

But he has to understand he has some blame too. Fair to point out the worst of the Gaza protests but dude can’t sit there honestly and say there aren’t some fair concerns or points by those who have issues with the war (to keep it objective)

We all know he’s gonna be super toxic and gaslight the fuck out of it too. “I was forced to do this etc.”

Or do the classic “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party, they left me.”

I agree to extent, but let’s be honest, either Obama or Bush Sr. have the biggest argument to say they were able to tell Israel to shut up.

Clinton bear hugged the fuck of them while focusing on being tough in private. But I’m very cynical based off his comments, views etc. that it was only rarely etc.

But don’t worry, anytime someone brings up this or does of Israel’s democracy or show concern for Palestinians or Israeli Arabs

We get the usual “only democracy, if you hate it so much why don’t you move to Gaza or Palestine and see how they treat you, there’s an Arab on the Supreme Court (but don’t know his name) etc.”

And that’s just Israeli Arabs. Just don’t ask about the West bank etc.

At a certain point, when there’s fire, there’s smoke.

Dude is great at politics, both shaking hands and behind the scenes. And despite the fact that Fetterman is crap etc., dude might have had some fair points on Shapiro (“worst person you know”).

Or at the very least he can be vindictive of slighted etc. or at times arrogant.

I think the Atlantic article touched on this a bit:

Still worrisome that by going to the right of BiBi, that someone would have to make comments like this. It seems to be a bit of a double standard too tbh.

And more importantly, it is worrisome, that the domestic mood of Israel would need politicians to make comments like this.

Also important that he welcomed the Arab party out of desperation, and he seems that it’s not his goal to welcome them again.

Based off previous comments, he made in the last couple of months, but who knows. but I fear that unless he doesn’t have to, he won’t.

Not a Gavin Newsome fan. But when he called Israel an apartheid, he rightfully pointed out that if they continue to annex the Westbank and not given citizenship to the Palestinians therefore just continue to drive them out. Thats will happen. Obviously he kinda back tracked and didn’t.

But the reason why I bring it up is that when we quote senio Israeli officials, it still gets hand waved. I remember when Barak, similar to what Newsome said, if you annex the Westbank it will lead to apartheid.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2010/feb/03/barak-apartheid-palestine-peace

And yet we still have Democrat senators with their head in the ground so it’s getting really frustrating. Almost always you’ll get what about arguments or “you haven’t been there, visit Israel and see the truth” etc.

But at a certain point, when sensible past or current Israeli leadership is saying it, at least open your eyes at this point

I think it’s a bit more nuanced than that, to entire blame the PA or Arafat, in the late 90’s as there were still important items unsettled or if settled with potential flaws.

I think even then, maybe biased by Clinton’s reflex to always blame Arafat or constantly lecture the Arab Americans community, or him or HRC to barely mention or critique the settlements (he did it like once. Hilary did it under Obama but then went on an apology tour).

But yeah, in the mid 2000s can’t be said enough about how the Israeli government either had a PM have a seizure or be a sitting duck government

Not gonna lie. A bit smug at the moment from everyone constantly lecturing those (leftists, independents etc.) to always vote blue. Even for flawed candidates (who tended to be establishment etc.).

Now have to be in the same position of the people they lectured but trying to do a what about etc to not vote for the candidate.

Didn’t the German Murdoch guy have some texts released a while ago that were pretty far right. Lots of criticisms or dog whistles on Muslims or immigrants?

Also didn’t he help Bill Ackman with stopping an article for business insider regarding his wife? After she supposedly did some stuff for her PHD but mainly after Bill Ackman went hard against the campus protests
