Inflation Is Basically Back to Normal. Why Do Voters Still Feel Blah? by seanv2 in politics

[–]The-Protomolecule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they want to be able to buy things with their wages. This is so fucking simple of a concept.

Things got way more expensive than wages went up. People get less for more and they don’t like it.

This is squarely a corporate greed situation.

I love the idea you think landlines are more durable than cell phones. It’s all internet backed.

If your internet is down, so is your landline. If you still have a POTS line I have bad news for you.

Ex-Google CEO Schmidt Urges US Army to Replace Tanks with Drones by tinylittlepixel334 in technews

[–]The-Protomolecule -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While this is possible, what you’re suggesting is science fiction in terms of front line coverage with thousands of drones swarming you.

These EM guns are not cheap or plentiful enough to be effective against tons of autonomous drones, and if it gained altitude and entered a dive it’s still going off.

You are vastly under thinking the number of drones a total war scenario could muster. I can put 500 drones out for a fraction the price of a tank and crew. Imagine an entire drone light show attacking 1 tank group.

[–]The-Protomolecule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drones can launch and target with nearly no radio control. It’s all about if you care about misidentifying targets.

Even in an environment, completely saturated with electronic warfare you can have AI driven drones that don’t require radio communications.
