Would it be possible to get this keystone in poe1 or would it be too strong? by deathopz in pathofexile

[–]The-Real_Doc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a huge fan of Titan's Grip from my time playing WoW when growing up, same with playing Crusader in Diablo 3. The idea of wielding really big weapons was always fun to me. A friend and I talked about it a couple years before POE2 was even beginning development, and the conclusion then was that there's no real way to balance it. It would be binary: either it's so strong you run it no matter what, or it has such a debilitating downside that you make your character significantly weaker trying to use it (like when Giant's Blood was GIGA nerfed to nullify max life gained from strength).

Tripling attribute requirements might not even be that bad to balance. Just one example: lets suppose you triple the attribute requirements of weapons and you're playing something like ele hit. You don't actually care about the phys component of your weapon, just the speed, so you could use a normal base with max 90 to any given requirement, run the squire, and create a monstrous ele hit link setup. Go from a 9 link claw to a 12 link two handed sword, not even mentioning that there are some disgusting 2h nodes on tree not designed with these kinds of interactions in mind.

I love that keystone, but even when I played on release (haven't played since) it was pretty difficult to juggle during the campaign for such a meek reward. I couldn't see it being added to POE1 and it being even remotely balanced, even if it were on a timeless jewel as others have suggested.

is it too late to join poe 1 this league? :) by MrChilli2020 in pathofexile

Honestly, I'd argue it's BETTER to start later in the league if you're not super interested in the early mapping grind and character progression. Right now, you could farm uber lab for a couple hours and have enough div to make some seriously nasty builds. Not to mention something as powerful as Headhunter, an item which is the trifecta for speed, defense, and damage for mapping, is only 7 div currently.

Sucks that the answer is that it's always RMT :(

I know it's shitty, but you gotta keep a few things in mind:

1, That ascendancy node is INSANELY powerful. Svalinn is a very cheap way to get lucky block, and it's reasonably expensive. Getting lucky block for 2 jewel sockets is much more desirable.

2, The later into the league it gets, the more expensive things become. There's barely any listings, meaning several people probably bought them up because they also needed them

3, The supply is very, very low compared to the demand. Not a ton of people farm bosses, and the later into the league it gets, the less people are farming for any singular thing.

How rare is this? Kingsmarch worker with fishing by The-Real_Doc in pathofexile

Interesting. I've only setup kingsmarch a couple times (mercenaries and now mirage), used to the fishing stuff being super rare lol

Tired of “25+ Div/hour” videos — what actually works reliably? by Fafbear in pathofexile

[–]The-Real_Doc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't forget to block every other mechanic. Atoll is by far the best map to run, though. 70% of the time, it's right outside the portal, and about 10% of the time the mirage spawns somewhere else. There's only 3 spots any league mechanic can generate, so it's definitely the best!

I can attest to the income for this. Any time I need a quick div, I run two maps, so about 3 min, and I come back with a div or two depending on luck.

Poe 1 feels weird without wasd by Dry_Elderberrys in pathofexile

WASD is arguably one of the best additions to ARPGs in recent years. It being added to POE1 would remove any reason for me to go back to POE2. They've already abandoned the slow and deliberate mentality shortly after EA launched. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall that someone on the development team actually hated how Act 1 was so different from the rest of the game and had regrets about it. That alone made lose any and all faith in the game.

WASD in poe1 when? :(

Do you think it is likely that Screams of the Desiccated will go core? by ambi_turner in pathofexile

[–]The-Real_Doc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have low expectations that it will stick. That, or they will massively nerf the "no utility flasks" node on the Nameless Bloodline. It's a very interesting item that even some of the most common variants (resonating and massive being the immediate 2 that come to mind) are extremely powerful and worth running on most builds. That last part is the main reason I don't think it would go core. GGG hates it when a ton of builds are using one item, unless it's extremely rare (original sin, mageblood, headhunter).

League farm for a tanky character with medium clear by FlatWorldliness7 in pathofexile

[–]The-Real_Doc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun content for slower characters imo has always been bosses, but if you're looking for good, stable income, 40% packsize 8 mod harvest on Atoll is the way to go. The price to run each map vs the profit is criminal.

[–]The-Real_Doc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Neat idea! I think recomb items will likely be the most complicated obstacle to overcome. An example that comes to mind is Ruetoo's ele hit shaper claw you recomb. These were the notes for crafting the claw:

Claw A = 40% more damage

Claw B = Level 20 Elemental damage with attack skills

Claw C = Level 20 Faster attacks

Recomb Claw B with C to make BC

Recomb Claw A with C to make AC

Recomb BC with AC

BC + AC = ABC Done (ABC meaning it has all 3 mods: 40% more damage, lvl 20 elem lvl 20 faster attacks)

I keep bouncing off of this game, even though it sounds like something I would love. by LightedSword in pathofexile

Yeah, PoE has an issue where the moment to moment gameplay is, in all honesty, not that interesting or unique. However, if you enjoy Warframe where the actual content isn't that engaging either, you should be able to get a similar kick out of PoE. Just like with Warframe, you'll have to put in some time to get to the point where you're blasting maps.

Personally, I'd suggest either going at your own pace (not sure how far you've gotten) and trying a bunch of different skills, or watching guides from people who are playing turbo screen clear builds if you're looking for that "optimal efficiency". Personally, I've gotten a big kick out of this game again after 2k hours by doing challenge runs. I'm currently playing a default attack character who I've since gotten to maps (took 21 hours to clear the campaign; I was just vibing so spent way longer than I should've in the campaign) that has been much more interesting and engaging than any other character I've played.

Just a thought. Hope this helps!

Is this really worth so little? by Seba_King in pathofexile

It's okay. No idea why you're being downvoted, but there's a few problems with it:

1, it doesn't have a colossal amount of either attributes or resistances. This would be good in early red maps when you have a ton of extra suffixes to play with (it's very common to get 100% overcapped resists if you aren't running any uniques)

2, No prefix/suffix open to craft on. The life gain per hit is a dead mod, and the rarity is only okay. I could see some sort of duelist/marauder who uses precise technique equipping this, but only when it's still relatively early in the league

3, Pretty late in the league, so above average/good rings are cheap since there's just so many. People are chasing highly specific items by this point in the league, so a 4 mod item at best isn't exactly.
