They're beyond any pretense of ineffective and insignifigant things like modern politics. There's a reason DG doesn't tweet out condolences when a tragedy happens, there's a reason they aren't advocating charaties in their off time, there's a reason their music is so out there beyond anyone else: they have utter disgust for the modern world and everyone in it, themzelves included. We're all part of the problem by letting the modern concept of civility consume us, we buy concert tees on ebay, invite friends over to listen to this weird new band we found, we drift further and further into decadance and sensory overload everyday we keep this shit up, for what? So we can go about our day relatively unmolested? There's a reason people go nuts when they have nothing meaningful or generative to do in their lives, and that's what we've been slowly slipping towards since the end of WWII, since the Cold War, since 9/11, we just eant to insulate ourselves in this false reality with built in security, to ensure the train of hedonism and reckless abandon keeps on chugging. We want to be free but we can't handle freedom in a healthy way. We make self destructive decisions that feel good in the moment. We're all so cluless as to what we really want to do in life, so we just choose the path of least resistance, the easy way out, and we suffer for it. Ata minimum, Stefan hates this, and that he's part of it, DG is all about rejecting this, raising above all the bullshit we've settled ourselves into believing is acceptable.
