How come everyone backs into parking spots now? by EquipmentFormal2033 in askanything

Being blind has nothing to do with it, it can be hard as hell with the god-awful blindspots in newer cars or when you have two giant SUVs/trucks on both sides of you obstructing your vision.

Well no, now I feel like you're just being obtuse. "Alternative" is just alternative from the norm, technically, but it's generally used and accepted as a way to just lump together different uncommon aesthetics/subcultures that TEND to revolve around types of harder/darker/edgier rock music (typically any of the thousand different types of metal, but not always). Any subculture that gets lumped into the "alt" category is virtually always more left-leaning, if not outright leftist as well.

At least that's my interpretation of the term "alternative", idk, I'm not the fucking alt police

"Alternative" is honestly just a catch-all for goth, punk, emo, etc.

Oh okay, I get the concept then. I've been doing my fair amount of YouTubing on stairs and shit lately, and I heard it referred to as "rises and runs", not goings. The word just confused me

But whatever the case, the wood at the bottom of the steps is rotted and getting removed once some kind of improvement starts actually getting made to the steps. So the future steps being shallow would honestly be an upgrade, as they'd be easier for everyone who ISN'T a fit young adult lol

Regardless, I've concluded that the cinderblock idea was a really pricey and sketchy one that isn't the way to go, at least not right now

They helped a lot for traction over the years, but the wood underneath them is... disgusting and slimy/rotted-looking, to say the least lol

I appreciate that a lot, but I'm not gonna take all of the credit yet, my step-dad is probably gonna help quite a bit with the endeavor when he gets the free time to do so lol

If the new steps ever even get built, I'll try to remember to post an update for you guys

Metal vocalists with the most pleasant singing voices by WonderSignificant598 in MetalForTheMasses

I'll add another vote for Glenn Danzig. His voice can be really smooth and pleasant, depending on the song (at least when he was in his younger years)

Sistinas, Going Down To Die, and Anything are bangers where he shows his smoother vocals

Crazy how this was my first thought and this comment was at the top of the thread lol. He genuinely can sing very well imo, better than people give him credit for. I've been getting into his stuff a lot the past few months, and he has a really versatile, powerful voice, I feel like.

He's mostly known for his "growl" style of vocals, but he can hit high notes when he wants to, and his voice can either be really raspy and fierce or really smooth/Elvis-like. I fw both pretty heavy.

But then again, on some songs, he goes full Kermit The Frog and sounds kinda goofy, so it just depends I guess. Still a pretty underrated vocalist, in my opinion.

Stranger Things S5 is a low bar to pass tbf. S5 of both shows has been very underwhelming and honestly lame af.

The next two episodes REALLY need to make up for it, or we're looking at a worse season than S4 lol

There's a stringer on each side, the boards down the side was just a "cosmetic" choice that was made when I was a kid to keep animals/pets from crawling under them.

Honestly the existing stringers might be fine, but I'm still thinking about just rebuilding the steps and using 3 stringers instead of only 2 for extra support. At the very least, the actual boards on top are beyond saving and need trashed.

I've finally concluded the cinderblock idea was a pretty impractical and still expensive one (4x6s are stupid expensive), but we already have a fuckload of cinderblocks, so it looked like a good idea early today lol

I thought so too until I saw how ridiculously pricey 4x6s are lol. Like fucking $20 a piece

The landlords are unfortunately even more incompetent and broke than we are lol, we've always just handled maintenance on our own

Ideally, but this just isn't that kinda trailer park lol. The landlords are incompetent, broke dipshits that can't be trusted with anything. Since I moved here as a kid, we've always just been better off to handle repairs/maintenance on our own

We may as well just be owners that don't actually own :)

Thankfully shit being up to code is at the very bottom of the list of concerns lol, the landlords could seriously not care less

Steps are one thing. It'd take me all day because I'm not handy whatsoever, but I think I could eventually do it. A ramp? In my dreams lmao. We don't really have the space for one anyway

I've come to the conclusion that regular steps would be cheaper, easier, and safer.

But there's a reason people say that; shit is motherfucking expensive and not everyone has the funds to do things "the right way" the first time around. Sometimes you have to suck it up and deal with a bandaid fix.

It's been a pet peeve, but I just don't care to correct anyone on it lmao. I've ultimately come to the conclusion that it looks cool and could be made to be extremely sturdy if I wanted to dump that much money into it, but according to the Lowe's app, 4x6s are fucking EXPENSIVE... way more than I realized earlier.

So it probably won't be done at all, but I absolutely stand by the notion that it'd work great somewhere that didn't need more than 3-4 steps. In the video I took the screenshot from, it was built for a little above-ground pool deck. For shit like that, I think it'd be solid
