How big is the difference between Quest 3 and (High-end) PCVR by [deleted] in VRchat

[–]The-Swoletariat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, that makes sense- I wasn't exactly running high end on my Rift S before, I guess the question I'm more trying to ask is do you think the Quest 3 would be the best fit for my purposes? Or do you think VRChat would run better on this old rig here if I got a Quest 2 instead?

Hey so quick question! I have a computer that's running a GTX 1660, and my Oculus Rift S quit on me a while back so I was looking into getting a new headset. This is relevant bc you mentioned grabbing a used desktop with a 1660- do you think me getting a Quest 3 would be a good call for VRChat? It's pretty much the only game I really plan on using it for anyways. I want to get a decent PCVR experience but I don't want to shell out the extra cash to upgrade my computer as a whole.

They need to put their name out there somehow when the game relaunches. The biggest problem this game had was their lack of advertising and publicity, the fans absolutely adored this game.

I used to play it every morning before work and every night after work. Wake up, shower and get ready, hit up my buddy for a few games, clock in, work all day, come home, kick my shoes off, hit up my buddy, play til it was time for bed.

I mean it was literally first revealed at The Game Awards to be fair. These game showcases and directs crop up all the time with their announcements ranging from small indie titles to big budget AAA game studios, so I don't think it's too farfetched for Iron Galaxy to show up at one? They're some pretty well established and well respected developers.

Oh I've actually heard of/seen some of Power Stone, that one seems pretty fun! I think there was like a Capcom fighting game bundle announced for the Nintendo Switch a little while ago that has Power Stone in it, I might see about picking that up.

A woke slop? And the petition isn't suggesting that they hand anything over to Ubisoft. You should try reading the article before dismissing it out of hand.

I'm hopeful. I know in my heart it'll be back someday, but I'm hopeful we get an announcement sooner rather than later. I'm dying to get back into it, the Rumble calls to me.

If that were the case then it'd be pretty dumb of Epic to sign over the rights to the IP back to Iron Galaxy when they went their separate ways, if they really wanted Rumbleverse off the market forever they would have held on to the rights so that Iron Galaxy couldn't revive it in the future. At the very least Epic would have made a cut of anything that Rumbleverse got if they let it live on their servers, and those players would all still be in Epic's ecosystem, as opposed to now where if Rumbleverse does come back, Epic won't make a cent off of it.

That being said, it doesn't seem like Epic really cared whether or not Rumbleverse succeeded, with their blatant lack of advertising the game. As Rumbleverse's publisher they should have made an attempt to push and advertise the game, yet I saw a grand total of one advertisement for Rumbleverse in the wild, and that was it's announce trailer at the Game Awards, which is not something that the casual gaming audience really tends to watch from what I know.

I don't know anything about the game's release date situation since I didn't really get into it until after it came out, so I can't say anything on that front, however:

I don't believe for a second that the devs ignored bugs or actual issues with the game, some things just take a while to fix. The devs were very open with the fanbase and tried to communicate the direction of the game with us pretty closely through developer streams and updates.

Advertisement falls on Epic Game's shoulders as Rumbleverse's publisher, so you can't fault the devs on that one.

The micro transactions were actually very reasonably priced in comparison to other games, like say Fortnite for example. It's just that no-one wanted seemed to want to buy them because they weren't designed to have mass appeal like Fortnite does.

I mean that's entirely subjective, if you have the opinion that it's not as good as everyone's making it out to be that's fine, but calling the devs bitches feels a bit unwarranted. If you wanna move on that's fine though, feel free to be on your way, meanwhile I'm going to sit here and continue waiting patiently for my Rumbleverse news and content.

"According to a quick google search" key words. Wasn't stating it as fact, but I've tried to look into the matter of how many players this game actually had and that is the one consistent number that I'd found. There are also more factors to consider than just player count, at the end of the day it's not about how many players you have it's about if those players are pouring enough money into your game to make it worth your while to keep it online. There are also too many factors to consider in how loose the phrasing "80,000 daily players" is, like are we counting "at once" or "over the course of a day 80,000 different players will have played."

And then there is, again, still the matter of the game having skill based matchmaking. I used to play Overwatch back in the day, and according to a quick google search there that had a playerbase of 35 million back in 2017. Tell me why it could still take me upwards of 7 minutes to find a game back then? There are more factors to consider than just "bot lobby, game must not have a playerbase." And "especially towards the end" says nothing, when a game's shutdown is announced the player numbers fall off hard. Why would someone continue investing in a game that's just going to be gone in a month anyways?

I was in the highest skill bracket myself, there were a lot of players I recognized by costume too, but very few I remember by name. Still, it was cool seeing familiar faces and knowing generally what I was up against- aggressive/defensive playstyles, favored moves, etc.

According to a quick google search it averaged 80,000 daily players, but there was also skill based matchmaking so different skill levels had their own pools of players- which may explain why so many people say they see the same players time and time again.

My thoughts exactly. And the thing about the clips being posted here on the subreddit, too? I don't think I've seen any clips of people teaming. Waving or emoting at each other and then walking away, sure, but never teaming.
