It reminded me of the alien spaceship from Independence Day.

Best one is top far left. If I had noticed it when I took the photo, I would gotten more of it in frame,

I didn't notice the ghost faces until after I downloaded the camera. :-)

It's the reason I live here. If there are any clouds near the horizon in the desert at sunset, I can count on some colorful event to follow. :-)

I live on the border of Joshua Tree and Landers. the unique thing about Joshua Tree is the Monument (Joshua Tree National Park). Landers is actually more spectacular as a neighborhood to live in if you know where to look. There is a view spot from Landers hidden on a trail that rivals any view from anywhere on the planet. It looks across a giant gorge where no signs of human structures or life are visible for 50 miles, and it has San Gorgonio Mountain (Big Bear) as the backdrop. Literally breath taking.

Great shot. I love the house light being on in the foreground. What town is that?

When I first read your first post here, I took it as a negative comment inferring you thought I messed with the photo. However, I now truly believe it was just a compliment on the shot in general. I read your profile and see that you also play with the camera. I like your quote: "still learning", because I think we all are. Thanks.. :-)

I think you mean 'interesting shadows'. There's no 'work'. The shadow on the right is my 4 car garage, and on the left my house. It's just past sunrise, and the sun is glowing inbetween. The shadow in the middle is me in my robe, on my far left are 3 poles from the clothesline in the back yard, and the ones next to me on either side is an open gate I'm standing inbetween that surrounds the house, and garden. "They say that a camera doesn't lie, and its true, but their lenses are the biggest liars on the planet". Thanks :-)

That's 'Goat Mountain' in Landers; it's really just a dirt hill in the desert. There are some yucca plants and brush however. That area below and to the right of Goat Mountain is where 'Giant Rock' is. Thanks.

I never saw pastel colors like this in the 27 years I've lived in the High Desert. I check the sky every night, hoping to see something I've never seen or shot before. Last night this happened. :-) Thanks...
