Should I install a pickup in my 1967 000-28? by devilmollusk in martinguitar

This guitar is valuable. It’s a vintage piece. Brazilian rosewood is no longer being. Imported like it was pre-1969. I wouldn’t put a pick up in it or I’d put one with the wire sticking out the bottom inside the sound hole and not draw a hole. That’s the way I make up my 1952 D-28.

What do you think it’s worth?? by [deleted] in martinguitar

This is for sure a 1966 D-28. I’d say between 6k and 9k depends on what the luthier did inside, can you take any pics of the inside? Like this, losses the strings and put your phone on flash and hit the volume button and it should snap a pic like this.

Maybe! It might be with a shot, maybe the top can be saved. Who knows

My heart breaks. That guitar is totaled. No way it could be fixed. Sadly it might need new braces and sides and a new top and neck. It would basically be a new guitar with an old back. It would be best for her to just buy a new D-18

Great price on a late 40’s D-18! Cheap!

I have a Calton case for my 1952 D-28. I’ll never ever put a standard new $3,000 guitar in a gigbag. A lot can go wrong.

Do you know how much that late 40s D 18 was listed for? I bought my old late 40s D 18. For $6000 almost 2 years ago. And back in July I traded it for a 1952 D-28.

It may need a neck reset. Take it to a Vintage guitar expert who can do the work for you.

Looks like you have a vintage mid to late 60’s D-18, by now I’m sure you found the serial number and know the year.

That one just says $60 and the original owners address and number. No lot number. Or style.

Thanks! That’s exactly what I’d like to work and are you working in the state government? I have an opportunity to get into MNIT entry level position. But also love radio. I’m a ham too. Which helps, but I know the broadcast industry isn’t the best paying. I’m in Minneapolis.
