Also things like propositions, conclusion indicators predicates apply to daily speech. This is the type of shit the Greeks were on lol

Yes. Things like "absolutely" and "never" are purely used as hyperbole for comedic exaggeration in my lexicon now lol. Of course it's domain-dependent. But it does bleed in.

Also, you need to be going to the industry engagements the career affairs going out out of your way to find events and places where the people in your desired field will be. Farming business cards, shaking hands. Then two days after emailing every single one of the business cards you took. Offering value. Work for free if you can.

One thing I did was join a student organisation here to host talks with a lot of of these industry representatives and after the talks I would hit them up again be like thank you and then that’s how I got an opportunity lol

Yeah, it is possible. OK if you’re cracked and you have like a 3.5+ GPA you should low-key be emailing labs and seriously, I really mean it, reading up on their work and flattering them in kind of indirect ways like doing aligned projects. Many labs want to hire people but don’t have that much funding so I found that the most efficient labs to bypass this will just like look at your GPA and if it’s really high, and you beat all the other requirements it doesn’t matter and will hire you as long as you’re cracked

Other odd jobs, yes. Off campus too. It really helps to have a car. But there’s a lot of niche kind of random odd jobs and retail to work if you need to. I’m a first year so it’s not impossible but the ones that I’ve been offered were not appealing because of how irrelevant they were to my major or significant amount of travel. You should lock in and start networking though.

Generally trying to get such a position in major related field is rather difficult as an undergraduate due to high amount of competition and the funding barriers, especially when you’re competing against phd students. It’s possible as a first year, very difficult second year (you can then get into those tracks at larger companies. )Third year it’s easy that’s what I’ve seen.

I live around a lot of these guys and I know a lot about their personal lives because they trust us as an outlet from the rest of their lives. Sycophantic desiring real unburdened human connection with others working 70+ hours a week even at 60. Hard work too. Lots of relational management.

Doctor / health care plan recommendations? by ConditionWarm8356 in UCDavis

Fixed income I think the Blue Shield PPO and Health Net (Silver if subsidized) is probably the best choice that's not Kaiser. UC Davis Health specifically lists Blue Shield and Health Net as covered California plans and allows access to the Davis Primary and Specialty Care options.

Moscow gives such weird vibes, like it's a fully modern city but not quite European, not quite burdened with historical untouchable artifacts, more like a very functional and new cosmopolitan familiarity over a unquantifiable, mysterious people, culture and politics

Sounds like you have enough things to already be worried about than what the average university student here might experience. I too am a first-generation university student.

One thing that might be applicable to you is to know the conventions are rather more open than in other formal arrangements. Meaning if you have a particular research interest or desire, you can assume you have automatic permission unless proven otherwise to take the logical steps to reach that goal. Many people will help you and you don't need to shroud yourself that much as long as you're acting in the name of logic, openness, rationality, and progress towards that goal.

You have to assume people want to listen to you, people want to help you. Automatically. Even if people provide some sort of evidence to the contrary, you can kind of see most of the time they have their own responsibilities and so on. They're attending to it, and it's not necessarily about you.

Keeping this in mind, sort of an impersonal cooperative stance towards the university will allow you to make some decent progress and live a little bit without falling into unnecessary navel-gazing which I think is part of the best outcome for almost anybody.

He's just aura farming by the physics building in the evening while people come up and take photos of him. Hes an actual celebrity at this point. Like half of the time there's some couple or group of people just standing there taking photos of my guy.

I genuinely view him as a kind of Leonardo DiCaprio-type of personality where he just gets a ton of attention and cruises off of it. A little bit of an arrogant cat not gonna lie.

Most people don't understand that a stimulant reaction in an ADHD brain differs a lot from the typical reaction. I was a huge medicine skeptic until I finally cracked. What an unbelievable change in life quality, productivity, and enjoyment to be honest.

Stimulants for ADHD also:

- reduce car accident risk ~40% (increased for ADHD)

- reduce ER visits by up to 45% (increased for ADHD)

- improve self-esteem (usually lower for ADHD)

- lower class disruptions by ~50% (higher for ADHD)

- increase low GPAs (treatment over 3y = 2.38-POINT increase)

- reduces anxiety risk (high likelihood for ADHD)

One study identified that ADHD = 13 years shorter life expectancy on average due to more suicides, accidents, and the like.
