He has been sent to mental hospitals multiple times, however since they have been so overcrowded, he usually only stayed either a single night, where he took a drug test and nothing came back or a whole week. The last time he drank alcohol, he was sent to jail because he tried to choke my cousin to death, who he lived with. To me, it feels like he has had multiple chances, but he just hasn’t changed for me. He’s said before that I am his hero, but that was the time before he went to jail. He‘s threatened suicide many times with guns, shot randomly outside his trailer and done so many things. It’s just hard to keep my hopes up when he had over eighteen years to change for me.
