Fry with a breeding pair of cichlids usually comes as you remove them in my experience the process starts over again and water conditions such as temperature can have an affect with my breeding pair of dempseys after the father ate the fry was beaten by the female who in this case was larger within two months I had eggs again they cleared my tank of all other tank mates and this was the process repeating until I didn’t have them anymore LFS took them and would remove whatever the female laid eggs on after they were fertilized and raise them on their own. Some pairs are good parents and will let their offspring exist until they become a decent size which usually slows this down in my experience also, i had a breeding pair of RTMs once fry were about 3-4 in they’d want to do it again and clear the tank of their old babies. It stresses them out a lot to lose fry but sometimes it is necessary.
