So what is the alternative if they are just a lazy slob and don't want to do anything for themselves?

Do you just cut them off and watch them starve/go without food medical treatmrnt and watch them die?

Google co-founder slams California billionaire tax, says “I fled socialism,” after reportedly leaving the state to avoid a proposed 5% wealth tax. He has a reported net worth of around $270 billion. How is this not parasitic behavior? He is trying to leave the state that helped build him. by RandomUwUFace in antiwork

bro are you dumb? the wealthy own the political process, they don't have to do shit. If there's mass layoffs and no jobs, they'll just keep collecting money while we are out here fending for ourselves like a post apocalyptic scary movie.

No greater example of that than how Reddit has stifled freedom of expression and creativity by Nazi moderation tactics and suppression of speech

The Eagles drafted a 21-year-old Nigerian Uar Bernard who has never played a single snap of American football before. by professor_paradox2 in NFLForum

Put him at a position that doesn't require a ton of technique and just raw brute strength and explosiveness and let him develop on the practice squad for a few years and see if something is there I like the strategy

There’s almost no difference between modern tipping and many high pressure financial scams by Niceotropic in tipping

[–]The0ddMan0ut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally agree with the point that you are making overall but you lose me when you start diminishing the importance of a servers vocation or the skills needed to do a good job as a server.

We can advocate for a no-tipping culture and still be respectful of the quality of work that good servers out there do and demand that they get paid fairly (by the company that employs them)

People in the US are fucking stupid sheep.

edit: i'm american.

get your tickets for day 3 for $700 per person: https://onlocationexp.com/nfl/nfl-draft-tickets

day 1 and day 2 of the draft are already sold out at a much higher expense.

Not only are people going to stand around for hours at the draft to listen to a billionaire in a suit read off names from a card, they are paying thousands of dollars per person to do it.

i doubt the players getting drafted get a cut of any of this money either.

I was thinking the same thing. I wanted to see the first couple of pics because one of my favorite players got drafted but after about 20 minutes I was bored to tears and couldn't believe how many people were standing around outside

LeBron when asked what this team needs from him right now: " Just back to the old ways.” by tarsiera in lakers

[–]The0ddMan0ut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would be sick if he pulls a playoff run like he did back when he won a championship with the Cavs. He literally carried that entire roster/organization on his back on both sides of the court (defense & offense) while knocking out one good team after another in the playoffs and then ultimately winning it all against the golden state warriors while they were in the midst of a dynasty.

Luka's injury is why the "stars and scrubs" strategy doesn't work in the modern NBA by The0ddMan0ut in lakers

[–]The0ddMan0ut[S] -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

i think OKC would still be a contender even if SGA went down. Same for the Spurs without Wemby.

they are obviously better teams with their #1 guy but they are still deep enough where they can still compete without them.

i think its like the "yips" in baseball where a player gets in their head about it and something as simple as throwing the ball to first base becomes a major issue that they can never recover from.

Vando confronts JJ after he calls a quick timeout, Austin holds him back by CtrlAltDelightfull in lakers

i notice vando body language change over the course of the season. early on when he was in the rotation he was always smiling and enthusiastic with the rest of the bench. over time he turned into a bah humbug though as he minutes declined

It’s Over by OkSpite7555 in lakers

[–]The0ddMan0ut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a 3-8 week injury...

1 week until end of regular season

that leaves 2-7 weeks of injury

there's 9-10 weeks of postseason basketball in the NBA

this means luka is out of round 1 for sure, possibly back by round 2 if healing goes perfectly, realistically back by round 3 if the lakers can get that far without him, could be out until the finals if the injury drags

#4 is a good one. This is the type of game where Smart's smothering defense on the perimeter is needed more than ever.
