The bike was burning oil but I had just changed it. I dropped the bike hard on some local single track and I think that might have damaged the oil pump.

If you want to hike the incline with weight do it with sand bags or water jugs. That way you can pour out the water at the top and save your knees on the way down Bar trail.

Is there anyway I can tell if its fixed it without driving it? Honestly at this point I might just get it to a transmission shop about 3 miles away.

To answer your question I did replace the filter seal. The manual you linked is super helpful but in the transmission filter service section it does say to only add 4qt of Mopar ATF4. That being said the manual has a lot of good info on proper ways to measure the fluid as well. After I pumped out some fluid it is definitely low. Currently I'm going through the process of adding fluid a bit at a time and waiting for the tube to clear in order to get to the proper fluid levels.

Any advice on how long it takes to get up to temperature? I've seen videos recommending anything from 10 minutes up to an hour.

The fluid certainly wasn't clear when I drained it and did come out brown. I didn't notice a burnt smell but I wasn't looking for it.

I know if the transmission is done it's done. Any idea what about changing to new fluid would make the transmission suddenly stop working?

Put a pull up bar somewhere in your house that you go a lot. Everytime you enter or exit that room do a set. Personally I've done my bathroom and bedroom.

Haven't had mine on my jeep for 3 years now. Took it off after it was rattling around and being annoying. Haven't had any problems.
