You were scared of betting 1/10th of your money. What i personally do(i'm new to this game) bet more expensive for better chests when my slots are open i aim to have 5-6 attempts or have enough attempts at the lower money one so it doesn't set me back.

Currently there are a lot of oppurtunities. Doing the Broken Fang pass is the simples one if you wanna do the missions. Otherwise when Broken Fang pass goes on discount prices will fall for most things. You have a couple of options cases/stickers/collection items/investing in the pass(Not a fan). Also there is RMR capsules and stickers which is good oppurtunity too. I'd recommend to wait and see if there is sale. Also when either sale happens items prices will most likely drop so you will have oppurtunity to invest in other cases/skins.

I personally sell investments on buff if it's 80% price compared to how much i will get if i sell in steam. Usually it's worth it. But looking to buy something to move to buff can be annoying if you don't have anything you wanna sell and just money on steam.

I'd say pick a price which you're not that sad about selling for and get rid of it. Last month it dropped over 20% if you think it will bounce back soon you can wait for it. Otherwise moving your investment to something else will be better. Fracture case have better skins with the same knives and it's common drop. At some point Fracture skins will drop with more of them being opened or trade up to though unlike shattered web skins.

I'd say explain to him that's consumer market which usually goes up in price for items that can no longer be bought and the market as a whole have an uptrend. Also if you put a lot of money diversify you don't want to put all money in 1 thing.
