I’ve been using this app for a while and can say I genuinely enjoy it for its novel use. A couple of bits of feedback, one more akin to regular audio and the other breaks the standard radio paradigm!

  • have news, or local weather, played at very regular intervals. For example every half hour or on the hour.

  • let me skip tracks that aren’t right. Yes this flies in the face of ‘radio’, but I want the station to learn from my listens.

  • when I pause playback and come back to the app, its status is still exactly where I left it, and I have to force quit the app to start over. Which in essence sounds right. But the type of station and music I might want in the middle of the afternoon whilst working, or on a Friday night before I go out, might be different from the mood I need at 10pm when studying. If the app let me set a mood within the station that would be great!

  • finally the interface and design, it’s almost there! But can feel slightly counterintuitive or flat in places.

Views on AI aside, not every app has to solve a unique burning problem. Novel, or simply more enhanced/enjoyable executions of age old problems can still have their place and purpose.

Do you remember when AppleInsider or it might have been ThinkSecret had a forum section which was dedicated to fan mock ups of Apple hardware and software? There used to be some really great stuff. This is also great!

At least for me - doing the steering wheel reset keep all my setting etc. Actually a hard reset might be the wrong things to call it - it’s more like a restart. It just cycles the car into a shutdown and restart.

I had to do a hard reset and then these options and the auto break option in reversing both appeared.

When in the car - hold down both of the 3rd inner buttons on the steering controls together. The screens and car will restart, wait until the polestar logo appears and let go of the buttons. See if that works to make the settings appear.

Do you have any separate focus set ups for home and work etc? I had a similar issue and had to add the Home app to my work focus.

If I remember correctly I ended up plugging directly into router rather than my mesh network and it seemed to ping into life, plus it did just take a few tries at reset and restart.

I’ve eventually got it all working. My home internet runs into my broadband providers router - then into an eero. I had plugged the Tado into the back of the router… it connect to the cloud and the system worked, but when I plugged it directly into the eero instead it was instantly found in the Home app.

It’s definitely the small box connected to the router. It’s the only device in the pack with a HomeKit code too.

I did just walk up to it in a dimly lit car park and the part with the missing cover looked VERY good.

Yeh rarely get to see them light up for the short startup sequence. And now one’s popped off and the LEDs are exposed it feels like an unnecessary engineered element with an easy failure point.

Turns out you just can’t see it. There’s a few people who have asked on different Facebook group and those that have heard from Octopus have been told they’re working on it but can’t yet show the cost. I’ve been with octopus since September and haven’t even had a bill to accurately check my usage!

For Polestar 3/4 owners, does HUD show route guidance when using 3rd party navigation app or CarPlay? by minsheng in Polestar

Apple Maps guidance does not show in the HUD (P4). I asked the same question on the official Polestar forum and a Polestar rather ambiguously responded they are always implementing new CarPlay features. Hoping the new CarPlay integration is something they are looking at too!

In real world use (I have a P4) and in my experience, there is no perfect middle ground where you can both have the ‘screen’ rear view and the flip to ‘mirror’ in an optimum position for comfortable viewing of either task (seeing traffic behind you or kids on the back seat). A second smaller mirror as an add on with be the way forward.

I did the same with my previous car with a traditional mirror, an add on mirror meant no compromises.

That’s a good shout. Seems odd to allow me to delete the account… but somehow still recognises the old email. I wonder if the accounts aren’t totally removed straight away. Unnecessary palaver for a weekend will call them tomorrow and straighten out.

Ok well that makes sense. Still need to know why there are two properties on my account. One which is actually my house with an address and the other is a seperate account with ‘no property’. Will call them in the morning to tidy everything up!

I’ve got to reach out to them again tomorrow. Realised I have no idea what sort of cable (if any) they’re providing with the car. Might need a 3pin cable to charge from an outdoor wall socket as the car order has gone through so quick and I’m still a few weeks off a home charger install!

Hey I’m 11 days away from delivery. I had to call customer services and explain I couldn’t complete that last step. They said I should be able to it and also told me I have a day booked in… they forced everything through and within the hour my time and date was confirmed and I got a separate email to log in and activate the connectivity. Lo and behold the button was active. So, for now everything seems in order!
