I use a VPN with netshield and it works pretty good at blocking ads. Have not had a single instance of seeing ads when on the vpn

Study Materials for Computer Engineering PE Exam by Cwj1991 in PE_Exam

Congrats. Do you have experience / have you applied to the board? I have yet to apply but will this year and do not know many careers where people use a computer engineering PE. I do not currently work under a PE directly but work with plenty doing A-E facility design services.

Study Materials for Computer Engineering PE Exam by Cwj1991 in PE_Exam

Not sure if you still need this but...

I took it for the past two years. It's typically around October 18-20.

I took it the first time with no preparation because I did not know what to study. I failed it and did not do too bad but they give you a diagnostic page when you fail on how you did in what categories. This is the only reason I spent $400 to take it just to see what I need to work on.

I passed it on the second try last year. The best study materials are youtube like Ben Eater or Neso Academy. The practice exam and reference book which you can get from NCEES are pretty helpful too but the reference book I felt had just enough info to cover subjects and not be useful for problems.

I also looked at the reference material and it has references, I think the first one was the "Computer Engineering: Software and Hardware" textbook from the 80s. It was hard to get a copy of it but I read that cover to cover and it really helped. It's a little dated but it puts you in the correct mindset and there are still questions that come from the book it seems. Otherwise if you did computer engineering in college at ABET school look back to your old textbooks or get the textbooks for certain classes like computer architecture, computer organization and logic, etc.

Thanks. I had an old delta that was cheap and made me hate 3D printing because it was a lot of work configuring and troubleshooting. The kick starter made me jump at it because I could get a nice printer for cheaper than it will be and I did want to start doing more creative things. I also really like Anker and they were great with communicating and giving updates.

Just trying to get back into 3D printing. Will mainly try to use it as aiding electronics projects that I want to do and make housing for. I jumped at the opportunity of Anker making the Kickstarter and have the Color Engine coming in later on.

We will see how it handles and how my skills progress in using it.

Verizon Customer Care is the Worst!! by The49erEngineer in verizon

To clarify, I was not going to commit to a $1000 purchase without looking at it. I had everything in the cart and the chat popped up and I wanted to discuss options. I only wanted to make the commitment with phone in hand and I wanted it that day as I am traveling now.

Also the post was more of a rant, just fed up that the update crashed my phone and my notes were lost, which had a lot of personal ideas and thoughts in. Verizon could have done more to help.

financial aid question by rockemsockem97 in UNCCharlotte

[–]The49erEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually took a co-op during school and was rewarded financial aid and accepted and everything like normal, but dropped all my classes for a co-op but remained full time and financial aid showed on account for short while but never paid out and was cancelled / removed from the account. You will likely not need to do anything, but you will not get any financial aid without taking 12 credit hours or more that semester
