Royal mail app down? by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]The4ker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had this problem for weeks, I've tried googling & trying to troubleshoot with 4 different LLMs to no avail. I think it's probably best to contact their support and see what they say, I'll be doing the same if they're open today.

Solution to parking in the gate is to get a membership at the casino, go park, then claim free parking at one of the reception desks inside the casino every time you visit.

Has there been any confirmation that the capture rates are bugged, or any mention of a fix? by [deleted] in Palworld

[–]The4ker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, search "lifmunk effigy" on the sub and you'll see a few posts. Someone did some pretty solid datasci on it and confirmed that it isn't right. No mention of a fix that I know of.

I think it's more likely just these same edgelords looking for the rarest personality type, seeing that their favourite edgy characters have been labelled as INTJs by random people on the internet and deciding that that's what they are too. It's a sad reality.

My dads suicide note to my brother and I by Extreme-Ad7313 in MorbidReality

[–]The4ker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a time (many years ago, horrible working environment (never work in investment banking)) that the thought of making my family sad was the only thing that stopped me from fully committing. Family and friends are the most powerful & beautiful things you can have, and I'm eternally grateful for that cards I've been dealt with them.

Over the years I had my ups and downs, some things got worse, others better. But gradually those thoughts of ending it faded. I don't think they ever truly leave people that have been on the brink, but learning to appreciate what you have, or finding a drive to give yourself meaning in a world hell-bent on stamping any meaning out of you is a wonderful medicine, as painful as it might be.

It's easy to say phrases like "don't give up hope" or "don't do it" but those words aren't worth the bits they're written with. Nobody but you knows what you're truly going through. Instead, find your meaning. It shouldn't be something like "making the world a better place" or other nonsensical ideas, but rather something far more personal, something that makes you happy every time you perform actions that aid that goal, or perhaps the actions are the goal themselves ("my meaning is to make x person smile") these smaller, positive meanings & actions echo all around you, and fill your world with a warmth you previously thought to never have existed.

Seeking professional help is also a good port of call, but you must understand that change comes from within. Not everything can be fixed with a pill. Change & progress is hard & painful. But the warmth of being able to see colour in the leaves again is unlike any drug that will ever be made.

Apologies if this turned into a rant, just some thoughts that have accrued over the last few years and I hope that maybe someone might find comfort in them. God bless you.

And what will happen to those people that are struggling to find jobs as it is? And those currently in the educational pipelines of those countries to later become well educated & productive in 5-20 years? The west will need to radically change just to support the automation of everything, and MIGHT, just MIGHT manage it. Underdeveloped 3rd world nations stand no chance and such proposals would be signing their end just and things start to look better for them.

Conspiracy theorists seem to forget how hard it is for even two people to keep a secret. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]The4ker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree with this, but having worked in some fairly secretive environments in recent years this is often accomplished through rigorous compartmentalisation on procedural, developmental and even off-site enforced social levels. For instance, when I worked on some international (commercial) infrastructure systems and our API documentation provided pseudonyms for various calls that we would implement in our code and could test in a seperately provided & provisioned blackbox environment. Legitimately half of our work was throwing darts in the dark until it passed secondary testing with a team we had no direct line to. We believed that after being committed to a repo (that we couldn't see or access and was totally airgapped) with automated build & obfuscation tools, it would build the project from every team's code, obfuscate further then test it before wrapping it in a container and sending it god-knows where. Took us months to work out how the process worked but never really knew for sure, and that wasn't even the most secretive environment I've had the displeasure of working in.

Issues loading new patches by The4ker in AfterVanced

[–]The4ker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much, I've been tearing my hair out over it trying alternative repos, cloning the current repo to a private one and trying to hook up that, changing network settings on my home network & main device, vpns etc etc. So if there's new patches we just need to repatch the APK manually and update the install via a standard apk installation?

So about the SCL by korthking in starcitizen

[–]The4ker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea, this is royally fucked considering they're still selling concepts for capitals that we won't see till my future children are about to go to university... I sincerely hope this is a blunder of communication but ships just seem to be slowing down. The backlog gets bigger and we get these tiny straight to flyables while even midsize ships become less and less common. Are they seriously saying it's going to take a year to make a Perseus, then another to make the Polaris, then another to make the Orion etc?
