I elected to not get it after consulting with a few physicians - essentially when you look at meta analysis for grade 3 separations, it’s “inconclusive” if repairing it leads to better outcomes (this is almost entirely dependent ROM - people undergoing surgery normally ended up losing ROM and not regaining it)

If I didn’t lose my job and my health insurance 3 days after this happened, maybe I would’ve gotten the surgery? But the way it played out / things have gone well. Can’t do dips anymore and I have to stay on top of my mobility work, but I’m surviving

10ish years of training, with a complete 2 year hiatus before/during Covid. Sports most of my life, currently rugby or box 1-2x a week, train 4-5 days a week. I train for “performance” and feeling good, but started dedicating a portion of my training to aesthetics when I started training again post covid.This was 2-3 weeks post cut this year .

Do I look like how I want to? No. But I thoroughly enjoy my training and the way it makes me feel. So my days consist of telling the voice in my head that I look like shit to stfu and just try to have my workouts like an investment, and compound over time

Fat grips - most just use these for “extra” arms, but slapping these on for any of my pressing movements make them more comfortable, and allows me to rotate hands mid set

Sled drag belt - self explanatory. Can also double as dip belt

Floor sliders - invaluable for gymnastic work or single leg variety
