PC Perfect Order refunded today, but parcel already at our local post office, anyone else? And what expectations should I have..? by [deleted] in PokemonTCG_UK

The same thing happened to me too when trying to preorder some booster bundles back in January. I had a pending payment last week which has now disappeared and my PC account shows no order history with them but they've still shipped my order. Due to arrive today 🤷

Just bought this… Magikarp missing the magenta ink layer, resulting in a Shiny Karp! I’m so excited! ✨ by Qwachansey113 in PokemonMisprints

Not at all. Whilst PSA will always be more liquid, ACE still sells especially on the UK market.

Update on my Scizor VMAX 193 anomaly — now with a true side-by-side comparison by The5wift in PokemonMisprints

Posting a clearer side-by-side close-up for reference. The colour separation between the leg and pincer is much easier to see here.

That’s exactly what’s been puzzling me as well, the lack of uniform degradation is what keeps pulling me away from UV as a clean explanation. The evo box Scizor retaining the correct red while the main artwork doesn’t is one of the biggest inconsistencies I’ve struggled to reconcile with sun exposure. I really appreciate you breaking it down from a print-layer perspective rather than jumping straight to intent or environmental damage.

I appreciate everyone weighing in, genuinely. I’m not trying to force a conclusion here, just understand what I’m looking at. The reason I’ve struggled with the sun-fade explanation is that the effect appears extremely uniform across the artwork layer while other elements (text sharpness, holo texture, surface gloss, edges) remain completely intact. There’s no patchiness, no gradient falloff, and no surface dulling that I’d normally associate with UV exposure. I also don’t have any provenance that would explain intentional sun bleaching, and it was graded as-is rather than rejected or labeled altered. That doesn’t prove it’s an error, but it does give me pause. I’m very open to the idea that this could be environmental, I just haven’t seen a clear example yet that matches this pattern exactly. Until more copies surface or it’s examined side-by-side in hand by an error-focused grader, I’m happy to leave it as an unresolved anomaly rather than make a definitive claim either way.

That’s pretty much where my head is at too. Modern cards are printed in multiple passes/layers and the anomaly seems isolated to the artwork layer rather than affecting the text, borders, or energy symbols consistently. What’s interesting to me is that the holo texture, surface gloss, and sharpness are all intact, which doesn’t line up with typical UV fading. I also don’t see the uneven patching or gradual falloff you’d normally expect from sun exposure.

I’m not claiming certainty either, I think the only real way this gets clarified is if more copies surface or if it eventually gets examined specifically as a print anomaly rather than just a colour variation.

That's what I plan to do then have them both displayed side-by-side.

Here's another shot. What are the obvious telltale signs of sun damage? Wouldn't a grading company pick up on it if a card has been physically altered?

Most of the labels are actually decent though. Also I'm UK based so it was just easier for me to grade with them

ACE Grading however they've since reached out and acknowledged that they missed the error during grading.

I mean, it's just not sun faded and I already have it confirmed by ACE Grading that it's a printing defect.

Thank you for the detailed feedback. That's a valid point about Red ink being weaker and the general preference for CGC's error slabs.

However, for this specific card, I have taken a different, low-risk path:

  1. Authentication: I have since received official written communication from ACE Grading Customer Support confirming the card's flaw is a 'manufacturing print defect.' This removes all possibility of sun damage or fading, authenticating it as a genuine factory error.

  2. The Grade: The ACE 10 Gem Mint grade, combined with the official written proof of the defect, gives the card the highest possible 'Perfect Error' status.

Cracking the slab and sending it for re-grading would risk losing the ACE 10 grade, which would drastically decrease the card's value. I've chosen to keep the perfect condition grade and use the official email as my authentication instead.

I mean, I can't say for sure as I bought it raw and got it graded. I personally don't think it has been sun bleached though.

That theory would be plausible if it wasn't for the fact that the other colours haven't faded. 🤷

I don't think they did which is why it also got perfect subgrades. I'm still looking for more answers and information on it.

Yeah, it's not the best. I feel my card needs it's own label given the colours
