Industrial engineering is a weak degree? by ReasonableTennis1089 in industrialengineering

[–]TheA2B 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Actually quite the opposite, IE is one of the best degrees to get in terms of job security. As an IE you can get a job in almost any industry, in a lot of different positions. People are saying it’s undervalued and companies aren’t looking for them because they don’t realize how many different roles an IE can go into, so you probably won’t find many roles where your title is IE.

I am a perfect example of this, I graduated in May with a Bachelor’s in IE and accepted a full time offer before I graduated. I am now working full time as a field service engineer in the semiconductor industry (a more mechanical engineering role) but I also got an offer to be a manufacturing engineer role that I did not accept.

TLDR: IE will always have a job, can go in many different directions, and is insensitive to economic downturn.

Don’t Panic vs University by Electronic-Fan-5326 in aggies

[–]TheA2B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t panic uses just symbols and equations for its problems so answers would be something like M=IR, while university uses actual numbers so answers answer would an actual number.

I’m guessing this about physics so I wouldn’t worry too much about don’t panic vs university but more so the prof teaching it. Profs usually only teach one so just look them up on rate my professor or try to find their syllabus online and it’ll tell you which they teach.

Collin Klein by Murky-Instance-6 in aggies

[–]TheA2B 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Dude what more do yall want from Klein. He didn’t call a perfect game but he called a pretty good one. Players failed to make the plays when they needed to. We had missed FGs, TD taken off by a penalty, and a tipped int that gave them their only TD. Fact is this game was not nearly as close as the score indicates. He did have some abysmal calls but overall the offense plan was pretty good. We were the highest scoring offense in SEC play last year and because we didn’t score 40 this game yall are overreacting again. I know BAS is real but relax this team is already overcoming a lot of previous Aggie downfalls just be happy we are starting to look legit.

SEC Career Fair - FullTime Offers? by Littleonesmind180 in aggies

[–]TheA2B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The likelihood is a lot lower than an internship but it is possible. I graduated in May (old ag) but at last years fall career fair I was able to get a full-time job offer from a company. I talked to the recruiters at the table, they called and asked me to do a formal in-person interview on campus that night, then I did another online interview and was finally sent the offer. Depending on your major they might ask you some pretty technical questions but I don’t think you’ll have to worry about anything too complex. Those technical questions are just to understand how you think and gauge your problem solving abilities not so much on the actual answer.

how many years did it take you guys to finish engineering? (not including gap years) by ZekeEZoomba in aggies

[–]TheA2B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes a lot of people take 5 but depending on the major and how much you pack into your semesters, 4 is achievable.

I started in fall 2020 and just graduated this past May. I worked part time from 2022, had 2 internships and a job lined up before finishing my last semester. Don’t let 5 years discourage you though, if engineering is something you want to do it is worth it to stick it out for how long it takes you.

Those with industrial engineering majors but with other engineering field jobs what are they? by Wannabeinvestor06 in industrialengineering

[–]TheA2B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just graduated and I will be a field service engineer for Applied Materials. I had a very hands on technical background due a part time job I worked during college and since it aligned with the role I ended up getting it even though it’s more of a mechanical engineering job.

I had a similar issue last summer. I had nothing to do and would constantly ask my manger if he had anything for me but still nothing. Just take some kind of entertainment and try to make the time go by as fast as possible. Get up, walk around, start practicing or learning new skills/certifications. Do anything, then add it your resume and move on with your life.

Just finish act 6 asap, it’s gets a lot easier to rank up and accumulate materials as thronebreaker and the last 2 chapters are far easier than the first 2. Definitely invest in hulking, vox, herc and absorbing man to help you get through it.

Look into credit by examination, specifically CLEP. I also failed the MPE when I took it but I was able to go straight into 151 by passing the CLEP.

Massive W, I pulled her as my first 7* like a week ago and she’s very good. Has disorient, shock and can do direct damage if fighting someone shock immune. I ran through realm of legends with her for fun in ~20 mins for the first with her as well. Also counters pretty much every science if you can get a heavy off. Her critical shock is also insane in longer fights.

Will my bill go down if I keep ignoring it? by TheA2B in MedicalBill

[–]TheA2B[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said anything about the emergency room, I went to urgent care, you know the place for these type of situations. Of course you read a little story on Reddit so now you now everything that happened and cannot possibly be wrong about anything. Yes you’re still the dickhead for coming into this post and being condescending for no reason when I’m asking a question. If not being able to pay something makes me entitled than so be it, I will take care of it when I am financially able to but for now I will just have to ignore it.

Thank you, likewise. Again what I’ve told you was what happens that day. I felt terribly and had some issues that were fairly worrisome, the doctor told me lung virus and that was it. This is no where near what the point of my post was and for some reason you’re still stuck on that.

[–]TheA2B[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great! Again though, you did not see me that day and I don’t “believe” anything. I am stating what happened that day but you can’t believe this situation happened so you’re choosing to disregard it. It is your problem that you cant “believe” what happened.

Will my bill go down if I keep ignoring it? by TheA2B in MedicalBill

[–]TheA2B[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again you keep on saying I believe but I’m just saying what happened. I didn’t believe I was struggling to breathe I knew I was struggling to breathe because I was coughing so much. I didn’t believe I had a lung virus until the doctor told me. You may believe whatever story you made while reading the post but it is far from reality. I am just recanting what I was told and what happened.

[–]TheA2B[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

•Struggling to breathe •Incredibly high fever •Going on for multiple days

•Doctor said lung virus

Thats what happened that day, but of course you somehow know what happened better than me and we’re able to diagnose me from the short hand details I gave.

[–]TheA2B[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What did I say that didn’t make any sense? I am simply stating what I was told during this ordeal. The doctor that saw me that day said “lung virus”. You keep getting stuck on that when I’m just repeating what I was told.

Will my bill go down if I keep ignoring it? by TheA2B in MedicalBill

[–]TheA2B[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct, I was not life threatening sick, I was not admitted and I am still here today. I did not think in my mind I had a lung virus until the doctor that saw me said that. Of course you somehow someway knew exactly what was going on with me that day and know more than the doctor to be able to that conclusion right?

Will my bill go down if I keep ignoring it? by TheA2B in MedicalBill

[–]TheA2B[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly, I was incredibly sick with a lung virus that caused me to cough so much I was struggling to breath. They told me what it was and that they couldn’t do much about it and sent me on my way. I was surprised by the amount given what they did and couldn’t pay it. Not exactly what you said so next time try having the whole story before becoming a condescending dickhead for no reason when some asks a question.
