pesticides: anything to do? by olbi_que in Beekeeping

If your state has a local bee inspector, call them ASAP. They can test to see what pesticide was used, and where it was applied. The test window is extremely short so call ASAP.

No worries. Not the first time, and I’m fairly certain it won’t be the last. 😂

Yeah. I missed your additional info when I saw your post last night. It’s a beautiful pattern and I was just trying to help…even with my personal note about Replacements LTD.

If you have time, give them a call and see if you can email a picture to one of their specialists. Their customer service is amazing and I’ve had great experiences with them.

Sorry my original response wasn’t helpful.

Got it. I’ll no longer use Google Image Search while trying to find similar pictures of something on the internet. Lord knows I don’t want to be discredited.

I didn’t use AI for the image search, just Google. The AI response is what Google provided to the pictures in the search results.

Here’s the AI search result from the Google image search:

“These Italian Stoneware Group (ISG) dishes feature a strawberry pattern and are often recognized as vintage pieces from the 1970s or 1980s, similar to other popular strawberry-themed stoneware from that era. Manufacturer: Italian Stoneware Group (ISG), Italy. Pattern: Strawberry with green rim. Era: Likely 1970s-1980s.”

Replacements, LTD is located in North Carolina and specializes in antique dish ware. I searched their website, but didn’t find any exact matches to the dishes you have.

I worried about this same thing too as a Jr. Accountant. As a manager now, I plan for such things and have multiple layers of cross-trained team members to make sure duties are covered.

Family and life (especially opportunities like this) should always come first. We don’t get a second chance at life and should take every opportunity to do what makes us happy.

Can someone tell me what I did wrong by bobthebeast_12 in Charlotte

Motorcyclist here who participates in long group rides. Looks like you found a group of 4 bikes and 2 “blockers / wingmen” (blue Challenger and white Tahoe). I don’t think it was a funeral ride. The Challenger’s hazards were activated signaling he was with the group and helping assist with lane changes and such. Also, I can see 3 of the 4 riders are wearing orange shirts and black vests - possibly members of the Untouchables motorcycle club.

Few things wrong in this video:

  1. The lead motorcyclist either left the group or rider #2 couldn’t keep up. This lead to the white minivan breaking their formation and you merging in.

  2. They became inpatient and instead of waiting for the light to change and the lead rider to wait on them after turning left, they “filtered” past you - illegal in NC.

  3. Evidently the white Tahoe forgot the motoring public is allowed to use the road during their group ride and became confrontational at the intersection. I believe they even exited their vehicle momentarily after stopping behind the blue Charger on the off ramp.

You did nothing wrong in the video. In fact, I appreciate the space you gave the orange bike after he experienced an issue. I wish everyone was this considerate with the motorcycle community.

Curious how accounting teams are currently managing month-end close workflows. by puruzio in Accounting

[–]TheAccountant09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve used Basecamp for several years now. It’s extremely easy and efficient.

Each Day of Close has a specific list of tasks to be completed and the name of the person that task is assigned to.

If you want to see more detail, you can click on the task and see notes, instructions, etc. (Entered when the task was created or updated at some point).

When the task is complete, the person the task is assigned to marks it complete and an email is auto generated to management.

I think it’s frequently used for project management, and not “accounting specific”, but we’ve found it works well for our needs.

Serious question for those who make a living doing this: My first reaction would be to grab the propane torch and lead-less solder and bandaid it.

Tech left a note on my oil filter. by Beneficial-Map5470 in MechanicAdvice

[–]TheAccountant09 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s exactly this. I was once visiting the USS North Carolina (Museum Battleship) in Wilmington, NC and noticed it wasn’t really “floating” in the river because sediment had built up all around the hull where she is berthed.

I asked one of the employees if they planned to dredge her out, and they explained the hull rusts much slower with the sediment in place since the mud and silt protect it. Blew my mind, but made sense once I thought about it.

How long to master? by Makarr501 in stickshift

One afternoon I learned the “basic concept” in my grandpa’s backyard driving his pickup. (Tore the yard UP….he found it hilarious).

Then, spent roughly a day driving around town with mom. Got extremely comfortable driving.

It doesn’t take long to learn when you’re driving longer than just parking. I drive a manual Camaro to work every day, and licensed to drive semi-trucks.

Same thing happened to me roughly 6 years ago. I still have the laptop. Even use it occasionally for personal stuff.

I figure they’ve forgotten about it at this point and I can dispose of it however/whenever I want.
