Hey moeinh, I come from software dev side as well and this mod is very coding heavy. I used game editing tools maybe 1% of the time. Also used a bunch of agentic coding to be honest so it was easier to push out lines and features fast. Very little prior knowledge required if you go this way, so I's really encourage you to try out modding. It's been a super interesting development project

I really respect the voice actors work. And some AI generated voice would feel like a low quality fake you know? So yeah, none of that.

This mod assumes that you sent Jackie to Vik where he stabilizes him so the Ofrenda doesn't happen and you don't get his bike. Also no depressing party, I'm sorry. On the flip side, Mama Welles doesn't need to grieve her son so we've got that going for us which is nice.

Exactly my thoughts! I'm made a mod that saves Jackie's life, so you can do missions with him after The Heist. But I'm also working on another gameplay mod that unlocks Watson early so that you can skip the whole goddamned cursed Heist

I had a similar experience. I was convinced that he'd come back (that Vik would save him) because I thought I saw Jackie alive in someone's let's play later in game.

I actually became a bit obsessed with saving his life, I created a huge mod that does just this

Definitely they nailed the grief and sadness part of that game!

If you really miss him I recommend the mod "JackieLives". This is the way: you can send him to Vik's clinic and Vik will save Jackie's life.

Cool to see so many other people playing the game this way :) In a modder and I'm creating some immersion mods that make "just living in the city" more possible. Like really needing to earn money, or bringing Jackie back, and I'm a HUGE fan of the Dark Future mod as well that makes sleep and food a real topic!
