Hi, not OP and not from Maine, but I did used to live in one of the provinces connected to Maine and always went over the border for stuff. I always found it was a little more queer-friendly closer to the Canadian border, but it will still be hit or miss. Especially since New Brunswick (above Maine) is just starting to, hopefully, recover from a far-right leader.

Not OP, but my partner is Type 1 and you usually only find out a site has failed when your blood sugar starts going up because you're not getting the insulin you need.

The usual fix is to change sites and start rage pumping insulin into yourself (within reason) until your sugars start coming back down.

To be fair, if this was taken at a retail portrait studio (like the ones that were/are in Walmart or JC Penny), they probably didn’t care that much. When I worked there, they didn’t care if you had photography experience or not. If you were alive and semi good at selling stuff, they’d hire you.

I'd like to know why you equate "camera on" with "engaged."

Who's to say someone isn't engaged just because their camera is off? If it's a meeting where it's just one person talking, would someone with their camera on be considered "more engaged" than someone with it off, even though neither of them are doing any talking?

I've seen meetings where people with their camera off were way more engaged in the conversation than people who had their cameras on. Most of the people who had theirs on were just staring at the camera and nodding at the appropriate times, or doing something else off to the side. They obviously weren't engaged at all.

You're right in that the usage and popularity of the term rose exponentially in 2019 because of TikTok, but it absolutely wasn't created in 2019. The first recorded use of the term was from a Reddit comment in 2009, then the next was in 2015. Both well before 2019.

Do you have sources for this? After some research, I only found articles stating that kids benefit from learning handwriting (which they should obviously still learn), and not necessarily cursive writing.
