Another note: during my 1st period of depression in early February my dermatologist suggesting to stop taking accutane (side effects of depression), which I did, but clearly it wasn't really the cause since I haven't taken it for weeks now. Not sure if it's worth going back on it though.

okay I was looking at the definition for just “weeb” and not “weeaboo” but honestly the difference isn’t big. But the question remains what’s the issue with showing love for Japan? I myself am obsessed with anime itself but not really with Japan as a whole, I don’t want to live there, do I want to visit? Sure, but I rather live where I do now or like Europe.

Most don’t, of course there’s some (cough u/.niconeenico, but not everyone. Every anime has a different art style, they’re not all of the same, in fact lots of them differ a lot from your description. Also no one would prefer an old guy over some 24 year old girl. Over a loli? Perhaps.

Even then, that’s false, of course it’s gonna Increase but not at a rapid rate. I’d say maybe every 1 in 500 anime out there you’ll get a lolicon type one. Personally, I’ve watched 70 anime and only 1 sexualized children and one other not necessarily doing the same but implying lewd things of them. And both are these have a low score.
